This search is annoying. Apparently the XBOX360 controller doesn't work with Windows 8 yet. Anybody have any suggestions?

If I am not mistaken I just plugged in my wired controller and it worked after auto-installation of drivers.

Actually just installed Windows 8.1 Pro on my desktop. Plugged in my wireless 360 controller and it installed within seconds. No configuration needed.

i bought the wireless 360 controller for $25 from amazon just before christmas: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-Wireless-Controller-Windows/dp/B004QRKWKQ/of course, it's nearly $50 right now, but it might be worth checking out amazon from time to time for when it drops again (and it will)the wired controller is currently $30, no idea if that's a good price or not: http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Xbox-360-Wired-Controller/dp/B003ZSN600/
