And I discovered that the baby formula scoop is perfect for coffee. Apparently a scoop is a rounded tablespoon. Perfect pot of coffee (IMO)

a tablespoon is the right measuring device, you just brew it strong enough that the tablespoon stands up in it.

I know this doesn't really make sense, but there doesn't seem to be much of a strength difference from like 0.6 tablespoons/cup to 0.9/cup. I can make a whole pot (12 cups) with 7-8 tablespoons and it doesn't seem any different in terms of flavor or caffeine load than if I use 11.

this whole thread is outside of my range of experience... when i make a pot of coffee i've never made 6 or 8 ounces... it's always a whole pot, and i measure my coffee grounds in cups.

i add 4 tablespoons and fill the coffee pot to 4, which i assume means 4 cups. It's not too strong but I dilute the crap outta it with that delicious coffee creamer stuff you buy at the grocery store

^^ For drip coffee makers, most coffees recommend 2 tbsp per 6 oz cup (which is usually around 10 g for a medium grind). The cups marked on most carafes are 4 oz, which works out to 1 cup of grounds for a 12-cup pot.^ Try using 5 tbsp.

I generally go 1 tbsp per "cup" as marked on the carafe (I think my carafe is marked in 5 oz cups) then throw in an extra tablespoon for a small pot, or 2-3 tbsp extra for a full pot...and I don't think my coffee is all that strong. I'd make it stronger but I feel like I'd be going through the beans way too fast.(By the way, who in the world thinks a "cup" of coffee is 5 oz.? Unless you're using the world's smallest teacups to serve it in...)
