It's going to be a true test of that Seattle secondary covering all those weapons after Manning gets two weeks to study them.

What's the weather forecast? Rain? Snow? Cold? Shitty conditions could help Seattle.

^^ You're kidding right?

Last years' super bowl came down the last play, the year before that the Giants scored with like 30 seconds to go to win, year before that Big Ben had the ball with a chance to win, year before that the Saints pick sixed Manning, year before that was Santonio in the corner, year before that was David Tyree (maybe the greatest play in SB history)... should I keep going?

Super Bowls went through a run of blowouts, but almost all in the last 15 years have been pretty good games.

Yeah, we have been spoiled with great Super Bowls over the past 15 years.

^^ That picture makes me happy as it got Torry Holt a ring

Also rooting for RW to win a ring. Seattle has been the best all around team all season so they should be the favorites even with Peyton Manning being in video game mode.

Denver has such a high powered offense though, it'll be interesting to see if Seattle's acclaimed defense will be able to hold.

Regardless, this was the match-up i was hoping for all season long.

The refs will play a huge role. Will they call holding on the Seattle secondary?

Pretty rare that the top seeds from each conference are facing off in the Super Bowl. Always makes sense on paper, but never seems to happen.

IIRC the top NFL defense is 12-3 in the SB, so Seattle has that going for them.

I think the two swing points in the this game are how effective Lynch will be, and can get Seattle consistent pressure just rushing four.

If Seattle takes that Charger blueprint and just kills the entire clock on offense and dominates TOP then Seattle can win.

On defense for Seattle it doesn't matter how good your secondary is if Manning gets a clean pocket and has time to go through is progressions. He will find the open man often enough to make you pay.

I feel like Seattle needs to play their A game on both sides of the ball to beat Denver, but Denver doesn't need their A game on defense to beat Seattle.

Denver fan. Much rather play Seattle than San Fran just because even though Seattle is the top D in the league, I don't think Wilson can match Manning throwing the ball if Denver can score points and Wilson is forced to respond. Wilson can do a few "wow!" plays a game but he's very inconsistent.

Part of me though was wanting to face the Niners. Then I can get some cold revenge being a 7-year-old Broncos fan seeing Joe Montana rip the Broncos' secondary to shreds in a 55-10 win in the 1990 Super Bowl. I was 7 years old, you don't understand things yet like "expert predictions", "Niners in a cakewalk", "Denver is a one-man team", yadda yadda.

Expected to be super cold and snowy per some really early projections, if so I think Seattle has a major advantage.

I think Seattle's secondary matches up nicely with Denver's WRs, esp. Sherman on Thomas.

Yeah Denver's offense is pretty damn prolific, but do people not realize that they played in the shithole AFC this season loaded with crap defenses? I think people are forgetting the power of a great defense against a great offense. Seattle should definitely be favored.

Because people don't like Richard Sherman.

Even the "great" people at Fox News:

With how heavily weighted the NFL has made offenses in comparison to defenses in their rules, I'd expect #1 offense to beat #1 defense unless Seattle have finally come up with the ultimate solution to overcome this offensive revolution that has happened in the sport.

I just don't think Seattle's offense can match Denver's offense for points.

Doesn't change the fact that seattle would be favored if this was a regular season game. Idiots betting just bc it's the super bowl is making this the craziest line I've seen in a long time

Don't people say this every year, yet every year you have a Ravens or Giants or Steelers defense that shuts down the prolific offense? Sure, there are exceptions (Colts & Saints), but by and large, defense still wins championships

I agree with that. I'm coming around on Seattle.

Got to think that the weather will play way more into what Seattle is trying to do as well. No fun hitting Lynch in the 2nd half when it's freezing outside and they're just leaning on that Denver D wearing them down.

Lynch MVP odds would be a decent prop

The key to this super bowl is seattle offense vs Denverddefense.

Everyone knows Denver scores 20-23 . Can seattle light Denver up or do they lose 23-20 is the question.

I got seattle 24-23.

Manning's timing based rub/pick/drag/crossing passing game would be more affected than Seattle's power run game in those conditions

if you look at the stats -

manning sucks in the cold and he's even worse when its snowing.

Russel will hit his short lanes and win the game.

my prediction: Seattle 24- Denver-17

He would also be affected by, you know, the best secondary in football mugging and holding all his receivers.
