Didn't see a thread really like this so here goes.Looking to grab a new phone. Not planning on paying the iPhone premium.Buying unlocked, right now it's between the $400 Moto X or the $350 Nexus 5 but I'd take suggestions otherwise. I'm on T-Mobile and not planning on rooting or doing anything fancy.

MS got some good unlocked phones if you are on the dole. Look here and scroll down to the Lumina 520 and 521:http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msusa/en_US/cat/Windows-Phone/categoryID.62685000?icid=Sale_Page_Shop_All_Phones_122613

^Definitely appeals to my wallet but the lumia series strong points don't mesh up with what I want. IE I almost never use my camera, where the lumias are usually good and I don't think the windows phones have as much support for voice control which I use alot when driving.

MotoX Republic Wireless. I have never enjoyed a cell phone as much as this one.

I like my N5, I just realized this morning that I didn't charge it all weekend. (Granted most of my communications were google voice from chrome so it was pretty much standby, but I was still impressed)

Thanks to the X8 processing system the Moto X gets fantastic battery life, even with a 2200mh battery.

can anyone recommend a good "dumb phone"? I'm an extra line on a friend's plan so it's just 10 dollars a month for me, I don't want/need data but I'd like a phone that isn't this Pantech POS I got for free. Internet says LG ENV, but if anyone knows of a specific semi-recent phone I don't need a friggin data plan to use, that would be nice.

just got a samsung J3 V. Perfect phone I wish the screen were a hair smaller (its 2.8 x 5.6 in), but as far as value goes I am super pleased.
