JeffI don't much care for it, to be honest. It's clunky and inelegant, and "f" is a weak sound to end a one-syllable word on. (My apologies to other Jeffs on the site.) However, it might be much worse. 4/10

I love it. John...just John, not "Jon short for Jonathan". Simple and solid.
12/5/2013 8:02:00 AM
My first name is boring. But I love it paired with my middle name, which I go by normally. Mary Elise.
12/5/2013 8:02:01 AM
Lauren is the female equivalent of Bob. Thinking about switching to some variant of my middle name.
12/5/2013 8:05:26 AM
JeffI like it for its simplicity. I am content and satisfied. I also think that Jeffrey rolls off the tongue, and is fairly baller. However, I do run into problems when people try to spell it Jeffery, or Geoffrey. And it was a rough period of time when that Dahmer character was in the news. However, I sometimes think another name might have been more fitting for me. Perhaps Luther, Manhattan, Stacks, Fats Belvidere, Calico Dusty, or Blue Flats.

EricaI like my name. I wouldn't name someone else Erica, but I'm content with it. It's definitely a product of its era. Very 80s. Like Heather.
12/5/2013 8:11:12 AM
Brandi I hated it when I was younger, especially after googling it and realizing I share the name with a bunch of porn stars. It's also spelled wrong and that's kind of annoying. I wouldn't change it though, because I wouldn't respond to anything else.
12/5/2013 8:17:08 AM
congratulations on not letting your name decide your fate.
12/5/2013 8:18:26 AM
My middle name is Andrew, but I go by Drew. Pretty happy with it.When I was a kid, I asked my mama why she named me a word; You know, the past-tense of draw.
12/5/2013 8:19:02 AM
CarolineGrowing up I was constantly reminded about what my name meant. My full name is also my paternal grandmother's and she was named after her grandmother so I've always felt connected to my name. I love the sounds it makes and how regal it feels. When I was a child everyone called me Carrie and my family/old friends still do but I prefer the grown-up Caroline. I despised being called Carolyn or Carolina, when Caroline is already such a beautiful name.
12/5/2013 8:37:27 AM
TaraI like my name. What I really don't like is the fact that nobody in the South understands me when I tell them what it is, even after I spell it. When they finally understand how it's spelled, they then correct me on the pronunciation and call me that from then on.]
12/5/2013 8:41:17 AM
Davidi think it sounds sort of pretentious but i'm not cool enough to go by Dave
12/5/2013 8:41:43 AM
^^^ My sister's name is Caroline. My mom's side of the family were huge Kennedy fans and we were named after John and Caroline. I dig it.[Edited on December 5, 2013 at 8:42 AM. Reason : .]

JamieI don't mind it even though I have had several people over the years ask if I dislike having a 'girls' name. Also, it is just Jamie, not James.

My only complaint is that I go by my middle name. So it can be a bit of an inconvenience sometimes. But I like my name just fine.I go by Mitch...which I like. It's a common enough name, but it's not so common that I meet people with that name all the time.[Edited on December 5, 2013 at 9:07 AM. Reason : gggg]

^ me too.My first name is Suzanna, but I go by my middle name, Spaine. Most people refuse to accept that that is my name, so they either call me Suzanna, Suzanne, Susan, or Stephanie, which is similar to my last name.

MyronI get frustrated with my name, because no one knows how to spell it, or pronounce it at first. But, it is really unique, so, I'll live with it.
12/5/2013 9:14:53 AM
AndrewI think I'd get tired of any name really.
12/5/2013 9:16:55 AM
Andrew, I like it even though I generally go by Drew, which I prefer far more.
12/5/2013 9:22:04 AM
JesseI don't mind it. The only thing that bothers me is when people assume it's spelled Jessie or when people call me "Jess".

JacobNever shortened to Jake (my parents hated shortening names). Coupled with my last name it makes me sound super biblical which I'm a little "meh" about. Always thought of myself as more of an Esau (the reality is I have elements of both). Growing up it was always "Jaycub" or "Jakeup" to all my redneck friends and family - I still find myself pronouncing it that way sometimes. I guess it's been a pretty popular name lately so it's basically me and a bunch of little kids. All that being said I wouldn't change it.
12/5/2013 10:12:06 AM
Francine is a pretty good name
12/5/2013 10:14:02 AM
I don't go by my first name. And I'm pretty sure at least half of my friends don't know my legal first name.

BraxtonA lot of people think I'm black because of my name, I've heard "Oh, I thought you were black" more times than I can count. It doesn't bother me, but its really weird because I had no idea my name is a "black name".[Edited on December 5, 2013 at 10:43 AM. Reason : forgot name]
