Can ESPN get anyone else to call Duke games?

I would definitely watch a commemorative montage for 30 secs every game for the rest of the season if it meant I didn't have to watch a fully announced game of Dickie V the rest of my life. (Come on Karma - I believe)

all sports announcers have a similar, grating cadence to their voices, but Dick Vitale has to be the most annoying of all. I've never understood why they are trained to have pretty much the same speech pattern no matter the sport or capacity as a sports broadcaster. I couldn't care less who wins ball games so I don't watch them, but sometimes I am in restaurants or other places that the annoyance cannot be avoided. I understand the point of sports bars, but I can't stand to be in a restaurant that does not cater to sports fans and have a bunch of yelling idiots staring at a TV screen. The Victorian "we" seems to get thrown around a lot in those situations. I never knew that so many people who watch games on TV actually participate in the games, but they certainly talk a lot about what "we" did or what "we" are going to do.

billy packer was prolly the best normal voice guy ever. bob knight is great when he calls games as well as charles barkely. all normal voice guys. for excited guys i'd take raftery or gus johnson over vitale anyday.[Edited on December 4, 2013 at 3:16 AM. Reason : kill patrick]

he seems to be even more annoying this year. i really have trouble watching a duke game with him yelling like an idiot. i want to like the guy, but goddamn he's so irritating.
