Anyone else in the same boat? It has to be something like a documentary, too - but not something so interesting I have to pay attention.

Yes, which is why i crash out on the couch so often till i pick up another TV. Its usually a movie ive already seen so the content is familiar and dont need to actually view it

I use to be like this but recently made a sleep playlist that I fall asleep to...it's nice and easy to pass out in a dark room without the tv

Can't do the fan thing. I'll wake up with a headache and crazy congestion.

I'm adamantly against having a TV in the bedroom. You'd think my perfectly by-the-books sleep hygiene would fend off my relentless insomnia, but apparently it doesn't work that way.

It's the term used for doing the things you're "supposed" to do to get good sleep. Dark room, appropriate temperature, no stimuli before bedtime, etc.

Can't do the TV thing. Had an ex that *had* to have it on and I never got a good night's sleep.

Give me my ceiling fan and a chapter or two from a good book.

i don't like having a TV in the bedroom. most girls i bring over find it kind of odd. my ex didn't like it either, but honestly if we had one in there her lazy ass would have never gotten out of bed for anything.

that being said i have to have some sort of ambient or white noise. most of the time it's a fan, but i also fall asleep to ambient or new age music at night too. that type of music paired with the subtle sound of the fan and a cool bedroom and i'm out within 10 minutes.

Wife needs it on to fall asleep.... I like it off, but usually I am going to bed much later than her, so it is not a big deal.

The problem is when I am tired and we are going to bed at the same time, she'll put a Netflix show on and fall asleep.... I cannot stop paying attention to the tv and end up watching the entire season and going to bed 3 hours later.

I can only fall asleep after I masturbate while my gf chokes me with a belt. Sometime chamomile helps.

I have to have complete silence. In fact, I usually sleep with earplugs in.
My friends are all "But if someone breaks in you won't hear them and you'll die!"
Eh...I'm not that worried...

I like silence theoretically, but there's never true silence. So instead of enjoying it, any little bump or creak of the house makes me antsy. I am a fan of a white noise machine or the like. Right now we have a humidifier going. Except I also sleep with ear plugs unless I'm alone, so I don't really hear them anyway.
