The OP is just hoping his potential Secret Santa will post in here so he won't have to do any stalking research

There are some glaring things that I need, like some nicer garments for work and some proper running shoes, but there aren't many fun, gifty things that I want this year.

Please post, guys, so I can copy your ideas. I still make a list for Santa!

as long as my family insists on exchanging gifts, i'm going to keep making a list of stuff i want. they might as well get me something i can use. if not, i end up with useless crap.

In my family, we quit exchanging gifts about six years ago. Nobody could afford anything then, and we still can't. And that suits me fine. Girlfriend and I exchange some presents but we don't go overboard for the same reasons. Wine, food, a few small things. I like it like that.

I generally throw a much milder fit right there with her, but only because I enjoy buying gifts for others so much. You know I give awesome gifts and it's definitely not about me getting more gifts because I'm the hardest person to shop for EVER!

My mom asked for a list. of course i completely blank on things i truly "need" when this happens.

random cycling stuff. A higher quality rear taillight for one. Also, a Nike Panthers hoodie.

I don't think I really need anything for my condo and I've been trying to upgrade my wardrobe myself over the past couple months. So maybe some socks, both boot/hiking and dress, would be awesome.

Shoes.
Could use a decent pocket knife too.

That's about it.

Put a deal alert in place for slickdeals. They have deals for Pyrex sets (often via amazon) that pop up every month or so. You can also find some good deals on ebay.
