I figured TWW could help me out on this- I have two big bags full of clothes I would like to donate, and I was planning on dropping them off at the donation bins at tryon/cary pkwy this morning, but when I pulled in, I discovered that these bins are no more.

So now, I'm looking for something either by campus, in the carypkwy/tryon area, or, if someone points me in the right direction soon enough (noonish today), one up by 540 and capital blvd. Come on, TWW, help me be charitable today!

I tried using google, but all I got was the goodwill centers, which would require me actually going in during business hours, and they are all out of the way. I know there are bins located around the city, I just don't know where.

I know there are some outside of a few food lions. I think that there is one outside the food lion on Tryon, but I could be confusing that for the one on gorman/avent ferry

Seriously though, every one of those bins I've seen has "This entity is not a non-profit or a charity" on it.

Goodwills are open pretty late, but they're not a charity either, and pay disabled people like a buck an hour to sort through our waste, their justification being "Hey, at least Bob is getting a buck an hour. He's got like one fucking working appendage. If anything, I'd say we're overpaying that useless sack of shit."

Drop that shit off in front of Cause For Paws, Durham Rescue Mission Thrift Store, The Salvation Army, North Raleigh Ministries Thrift Shoppe etc

Yea I would check with a local church or something. Maybe a local PTA thrift shop? I know they have those all over the place here in Orange County.

^^ This. Tons of thrift stores around here that can put it to good use and give you a tax writeoff for it. I usually donate to the Cause For Paws on S. Saunders St. They'll pick up furniture too which is great for heavy stuff.

I know there's a Goodwill in Cary, but I can't remember exactly where. There's also Dorcas Ministries run thrift shop off High House/Old Apex Rd. and there's a place in the old Nowell's Furniture building on Western Blvd./Chatham St. (between Bojangles and the soccer complex) that would take it.

There was one in the shopping center near where the new HT is being built. It's over by the Hobby House on Maynard and Cary Pkwy
