Employer sponsored health care here, and my family premium for myself, my wife and my daughter went up 200 for the year. Overall I'm pretty happy with that increase, but I attribute none of that to Obamacare.

300% if I want about the same level of coverage through my work plan as I've had in the past only about 225% if I decide I want my deductible to increase from $1500 to $2500 and my max out of pocket expenses are increasing either way from $3000 to either $5000 or $7000 depending on which plan I pick. In short they are increasing about $700/year. All I can say is thank God I don't smoke...
10/30/2013 8:23:53 AM
I'm paying about $180 for shitty insurance now. Looks like plans in new york are around $325 for pretty decent plans that were $500+ when I was looking two years ago. So im cool with it.[Edited on October 30, 2013 at 8:31 AM. Reason : I own my own business. ]

god damn i'm glad i have employer provided insurance

You know, the theory is that it'll be cheaper the more people that register for it.Because it's new insurance regs. Not Obama taking over every hospital.

You can keep your plan if it meets regulations. Whoops! But yes insurance has always been expensive. Even through the freelancers union the shit was 400 bucks for sub par stuff.
10/30/2013 9:19:06 AM
I, too, will have my insurance plan canceled.I, too, will be paying 200% more.

Should we feel bad for you?

My current insurance plan has been cancelled. On my new plan, if my family's medical expenses are the exact same for 2014 as they were for 2013, it will cost me an additional $5,187.60 (as a result of increased premiums and deductibles).http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o65vMUk5so[Edited on October 30, 2013 at 2:30 PM. Got a call from Obama. I lost my insurance which I couldn't afford and now have to purchase a new insurance I can't afford that costs 20000% more. I also have to have a mandatory prostate exam to keep coverage and also it will be given by Gay Muslims.
10/30/2013 4:22:24 PM
So why is he getting away with the promise he made that if you like your plan, you can keep your plan. Why didn't he tell the truth and say "If you like your plan, and it complies with the law, then you can keep your plan"? Because he had to sell it to the American public, and the absolute truth wouldn't have sold very well.
10/30/2013 5:34:51 PM

I am curious as to who this really is helping. Everyone I know that was insured prior to ACA is seeing increased premiums, increased deductibles (or both), or have had their policies canceled and given quotes for new plans with higher costs.I was talking to someone who pays for his family's insurance out of pocket. He said his premiums were increasing from about $300 per month to over $1200 per month for comparable coverage (based on his income I don't think he would be eligible for subsidies). 1967caddyman and I work for the same company so I assume I am in the same predicament though I have not had a chance to check yet since I have been out of town and unable to log into the company portal.
10/30/2013 8:02:31 PM
Its helping.....the people that don't deserve help. Just think baby mommas and lots of bastard thiefs. Laws like this devalue my education, the more we socialize, the less my working hard gets me.Socialism is never good.
10/30/2013 8:23:51 PM
I pay for my insurance out of pocket. My monthly payment is currently $305. When I switch to my ACA plan, I'll be paying $97 a month. Coverage is comparable.
10/30/2013 8:24:56 PM
Evidently your income is low and you were overpaying. Anyone thats young, making decent money is getting butt fucked.
10/30/2013 8:26:46 PM
I was overinsured for sure, but I wouldn't say I overpaid for the coverage I had.My income is totes low.
10/30/2013 8:28:58 PM
^,^^^Is that through BCBS? How the hell did you find a $97/month plan? My old one was about $90/month but is no longer offered beginning in 2014[Edited on October 30, 2013 at 8:35 PM. Reason : vinyl]
10/30/2013 8:29:25 PM
sad thing is both of those are lower than my company insurance plan, yea they offer one plan, a fat 150 a month...
10/30/2013 8:30:28 PM
Good to know that people are losing their insurance so that some hipster douche's monthly payments can decrease, allowing him to purchase more shitty records for his no name book store.[Edited on October 30, 2013 at 8:32 PM. Reason : Worst president ever?]

10/30/2013 8:37:12 PM
I currently have shitty insurance. They insurance I'm going to buy is more expensive but cheaper than anything similar I could buy 2 years ago. $150 a month is peanuts. Shut up.
10/30/2013 9:29:52 PM
Here's my question - for all of you folks that are in the individual insurance market, why? Does your employer not offer coverage? Are you still a student...if so, why not go with NC State's insurance? Or have you graduated and are working a part time job and have to buy insurance outside of your employment? There seems to be an awful lot of you that are in the individual market, and for most folks in a career type job, I would think it would be beneficial to go with your employer sponsored coverage.
