Preliminary Thoughts... or way too early? But I am excited, just recently learned that James Spader is playing Ultron. http://collider.com/james-spader-avengers-2-age-of-ultron-interview/Teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr5rzSMNmRM (nothing to do with Spader) III[Edited on October 8, 2013 at 12:42 PM. i heard if spader's current series is renewed he might have a conflict with being in avengers 2. I like james spader... i hope he works out!

I'm not all that excited about Ultron, especially after the Thanos buildup at the end of the last movie... that said I don't know much about Ultron so we'll see.The main issue is that thanks to the Iron Man series I'm completely exhausted with everything robot, cyborg, robot suit, etc. Moving from the first movie to a second where the antagonist is... another robot? seems very meh to me. An Iron Man suit with its own AI that gets out of control or SHIELD trying to create a suit like Tony's, I think I'll pass.

dont lie dawg. you'll be at the movie theater like the rest of us.
10/8/2013 5:37:45 PM
I'm SO sorry jbtilley that you will be unable to enjoy an Avengers film that has more robots and I'm also so VERY sorry that you prefer magical entities and forces

He would never loan Hulk his sweater.

Is anyone else confused about Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch being in both Avengers and X-Men?Also, I didn't know the Olsen Twins had another sister.
8/27/2014 1:47:44 PM
Avengers and X-men are the same universe, along with Spider-man and Fantastic Four, etc. I know I've read comics where spider-man is dealing with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D.
8/27/2014 2:09:00 PM
How come Nick Fury didn't enlist any of the X-Men for the Avengers?Man, if all of the Marvel comics take place in the same universe...that's a lot of hero'ing going on.
8/27/2014 2:10:54 PM
^^just play Lego Marvel Super Heroes for clarification.

In the comics, it is all one universe In the movies, fox owns the rights to the x-men, the term mutant, and the fantastic 4, with the new fantastic 4 reboot, they could be in the same universeSony owns spider-man and all characters directly related to spidey comics, this is another universeThe marvel cinematic universe owns pretty much all the rest, since scarlet witch and quicksilver relate to the xmen and mutants through magneto, fox could use them, but since they were also avengers in the comics, Marvel cinematic universe can use them (but cannot use the term "mutant" or say that their dad is magneto)

Guys was anyone else confused when Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter came out?I mean I saw Lincoln and I didn't remember any of that stuff happening![Edited on August 27, 2014 at 5:28 PM. Reason : Is it the same universe? I mean they have the same name]

I think my first comic book was one where Wolverine fought Hulk

Andy Serkis in the trailer at 1:33. I knew he was hired as a motion capture acting coach for Ruffalo but I wonder what his live action character is?
10/22/2014 10:20:03 PM
Ohhh Oohhhhh Oooohhh, I think I may need to change my pants... I can't even wait.... I am more excited about being able to take my son to the midnight matinee. Damn School.
10/22/2014 10:28:35 PM
jeeze all the tard comments on that video already. "Ultron's mouth is moving, i hate this already!!" seriously? lmao...
10/23/2014 6:14:01 AM
don't get me wrong, i love james spader, but it just seemed weird seeing his voice come out of a robot. i'm sure i'll get over it though
10/23/2014 6:36:13 AM
I knew that the different companies owned X-men, Spider-Man, and *.Marvel, but I didn't realize that Quicksilver or Scarlet Witch were connected to Avengers. That's a cool loop hole. What other characters/IP are in that condition? Marvel rosters changed a lot through the decades. Also, Ultron's lines from Pinnochio reminded me of that eerie scene with Terry Crews in Gamer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IMb8GFXHeI[Edited on October 23, 2014 at 7:50 AM. I take it you haven't seen The Winter Soldier?
10/23/2014 7:54:48 AM
I came.Seriously tho, looks badass. Liked the extended Hulk-buster scene.
10/23/2014 7:57:52 AM
yea looks good. this looks like a darker film but I also thought that about Ironman 3 and we know how that turned out...trailers be trickyI dont mind Ultron. better than loki in my opinion. I hope they dont set up a Civil war scenario. I personally cant stand the civil war. I want Thanos. the quicksliver cross over is funny to me. feels like two different comic books
10/23/2014 8:06:10 AM
Definitely not a comic nerd, so I've been mixing up Ultron and Thanos this whole time. I thought they showed Thanos in a post credit scene in either the first Avengers or one of the Thor movies. Am I mixing up my movies??
10/23/2014 8:25:20 AM
10/23/2014 8:29:40 AM
Ultron = robot, Thanos = purple hulk

OMG NERD
10/23/2014 8:55:41 AM
Could someone give me the tl;dr version of Ultron? I've heard people say that Tony Stark feels responsible for his creation, but the wikipedia page says he was created by Hank Pym? I don't know who Hank Pym is.
10/23/2014 9:42:57 AM
^Ant Man
10/23/2014 9:54:24 AM
Is every trailer a monologue from the villain now?
10/23/2014 9:58:23 AM
10/23/2014 10:37:51 AM
Ya, from what I gathered from the wiki, was the Ultron is the AI, but he installs himself into various parts/machines/bodies/suits, at one point involving Ironman's armor.

This is more general MCU news, but instead of starting a bunch of new threads for movies years off, I'll put this here: http://io9.com/marvel-debuts-their-new-phase-3-movies-including-capta-1651832265Biggest news- Black Panther! And he has already been cast: Chadwick Boseman Cap 3 officially subtitled Civil WarAnd Avengers 3: Infinity War!!! Split into 2 parts released a year apartHoly fuck so much awesomeness (even more at the link)[Edited on October 28, 2014 at 2:50 PM. Reason : $$$]
10/28/2014 2:50:04 PM
Civil War!!!! Can't wait.
10/28/2014 3:56:24 PM
10/28/2014 4:23:36 PM
So the question I still have is. . . do they or do they not have Spider-Man for Civil War? Feels like something that should be included in an announcement this big, but maybe they are holding it for hype later to not overshadow Captain Marvel and Black Panther.Actually, yeah, I'd guess this would be the wrong time to reveal that information regardless of whether he is in or out.
10/28/2014 4:33:46 PM
Doesn't Sony still own the rights to live action Spider-Man movies?
10/28/2014 4:37:01 PM
Yeah they do but ever since this Joe Russo quote about Cap 3, people seem to think he was referring to Spidey
10/28/2014 4:48:33 PM
Man I love Captain Marvel. I hope they cast Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck, Mass Effect). She looks exactly like her.
10/28/2014 5:34:37 PM
Extended trailer was shown on Agents of Shield today, featuring the hammer scene shown at ComicCon. Gave a little humor to an otherwise bleak trailer.
10/28/2014 10:14:00 PM
Sony won't give up the rights to Spider Man because they know Marvel Studios will make anything that Sony has ever done look like amateur film school movies.
10/29/2014 7:08:42 AM
I don't really think it will happen, but the rumors have not been that Sony would give up the rights to him (they absolutely wouldn't), but rather "lease" him, and allow him to appear in some marvel films. I'm sure they would want more money than marvel is willing to pay for it, but it would help boost their struggling Spidey franchise. Also I don't really think marvel needs him, it could be cool, but all these movies just announced are going to make billions of dollars anywaysAlso it sounds like they are changing Civil War storyline a good bit, so his presence is not integral
10/29/2014 7:27:41 AM
i lol'd
10/29/2014 7:41:59 AM
Give me a Cap/Thor standalone movie nowwwww!
10/29/2014 8:50:34 AM
Good point Money_Jones, regardless of whether Spider-Man shows up this movie is already going to make a shitload of money. Adding Spider-Man isn't gonna make a bunch of people say "Okay I'll go see it then". If they did get him in there though, it would only be to please the fans, which I wouldn't put it past them to do.Sidenote on Spidey: I read an interesting article a while back saying that if Marvel had never sold the rights of him and X-men back in the early 00s, we probably would never have seen nearly as good of an Avengers movie. Spidey and X-Men are Marvel's two most well known franchises so when they started making their own movies, they would have undoubtedly gone with them and Iron Man, Thor, etc. would have been on the back burner.
