I'm one of those people. I'll look at a text and respond immediately if I'm not busy at the moment. But if I'm doing something, I'll put it off. Then I either continue to be busy for the rest of the day or just forget about it. If it was something really important, I probably would have made the time or not forgotten.

So basically...quit being a bitch.

as bogus as this excuse sounds, i've legitimately forgot to answer texts before, but that accounts for only about 5% of my non-responses.

it's pretty easy to read people's opinion of you these days. If they want to communicate with you, they will text back. Everyone has their phone within an arms reach for about 95% of their day if not more, especially women.

if somebody texts me a question or something requiring a response on my part, i always reply. it seems like common courtesy...especially since it takes no time to type a response.

that said, i don't drop what i'm doing and check my phone every time i get a text.

For my job I have to answer texts and emails almost immediately. If I dont then it's not important and I don't care.

So bc of this if I text or email someone and they don't respon in 15-30min then what I'm asking or want must not be important to them and then I normally ignore them when they want something.

It depends on what the text is. If it's a question or something that actually needs a response, then yeah I think it's rude to completely ignore it and then text about something different the next day. Nobody is that fucking busy that they can't respond to a direct question in a 24 hour period. They're either an asshole or not that good of a friend.

If it's just a random picture or comment, then no response isn't a big deal.

But also, I am very spacey. I have a bad habit of having a conversation with someone then just disappearing and responding like over a week later. Sometimes I'm legitimately concerned about my attention span then I remember the times where I will block out everything else just to find out what type of weird bug was flying in my house, or why my fax machine prints backwards. Maybe that's a sign of something else.
