Or are they paid server/tipped wage of $2.13/hour?]

8/14/2013 2:42:18 PM
who cares. don't tip carryout.
8/14/2013 2:42:38 PM
8/14/2013 2:45:04 PM
i always tip 2-3 dollars on take out, esp if it's busy.and especially if im going to eat there again, they remember names and faces, dont be labeled a cheap ass and your food will be fine.
8/14/2013 2:52:59 PM
how about don't eat outback
8/14/2013 3:04:41 PM
i do not tip on carryout. but then againi don't ever get carryout.
8/14/2013 3:22:52 PM
my ex liked ordering Outback to-go and it was always just average. Sure Outback isn't the best, but it's not that bad. but it's just not the same pulling a luke warm steak and soggy (insert your side of choice) from a Styrofoam container.
8/14/2013 3:22:53 PM
They get paid the same as waitresses. Friend that worked there claimed it was more work than tables because you had to box up the food but I'm skeptical.
8/14/2013 3:32:11 PM
i didn't ask you people your tipping habits^^ still good food what what it is though...as long as you can look past the styrofoam ^ thanks that's what i was thinking. and yeah the last time i picked up food there the take out people were running around like maniacs]
8/14/2013 4:17:43 PM
i tip 90% for carryoutbecause i just love getting noticeably smaller portions than if i were to dine in.[Edited on August 14, 2013 at 4:32 PM. Reason : e]
8/14/2013 4:31:12 PM
I never tip Papa Johns when I get carryout. I feel like a cheap ass having to put ZERO in the tip line on the receipt, but damn, I'm already paying for the product. What other service is there?
8/14/2013 4:33:17 PM
8/14/2013 4:35:48 PM
i got no problem putting an x through that bitch
8/14/2013 4:36:42 PM
I just ignore it if I won't wanna use it
8/14/2013 4:42:37 PM
I always just sign it and don't write any $ amountsIf they want to charge me 25% on an $7 take out order then so be it. I really don't give a fuckI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
8/14/2013 4:43:00 PM
they aren't putting a tip line on your check to try and get you. most of these places use the same bill/receipt format for dine-in or carry-out/delivery. obviously you would use the tip line if you dined in and had table service or if a driver delivered your food. For a carry-out order just ignore it. No big deal.]
8/14/2013 4:52:59 PM
8/14/2013 5:41:46 PM
that's why I don't tip either one /internet explodes
8/14/2013 5:44:25 PM
Do you tip anyone, or are you just a cheap asshole?
8/14/2013 5:44:59 PM
i heard if people like waitresses or pizza boys didn't end up making minimum wage when you included the tips the restaurant had to reimburse them that amount... is that not true?
8/14/2013 6:00:42 PM
^ legally, yes, but in practice, who knows
8/14/2013 6:03:14 PM
If its a restaurant, I'll do a couple bucks, but no more than 10%. I sure as shit won't give 5 on a $30 bill.If its a pizza joint, or anywhere that you order at a counter, fuck that. Unless I made some pain in the ass requests and they were acomodating.
8/14/2013 7:25:19 PM
in reality it never matters because people tip so much that waiters and bartenders make like 40/hr
8/14/2013 7:30:29 PM
^^ 10% lol^ unless you're drawing diagrams, no one gives a shit about your posts Earl
8/14/2013 8:06:01 PM
8/14/2013 8:17:38 PM
^^10% was to say, I'm not giving you $2 if its less than $20.
8/14/2013 8:21:21 PM
I don't get carry out from a sit down restaurant because I just don't need that stress in my life. Who to tip, what to tip, it's all so confusing.
8/14/2013 8:32:24 PM
^^
8/14/2013 8:35:29 PM
Wait. I think there's confusion. If I sit down and eat at the restaurant, I routinely tip 20%+. If I get take out at the same restaurant, no more than 10%. This thread is about take out, so I didn't qualify the statement.
8/14/2013 8:41:08 PM
Do these waitresses come out to the car or do you just walk in, grab/pay, and leave?
8/14/2013 8:47:58 PM
^ The former.^^ Ok that makes a little more sense.]
8/14/2013 8:50:04 PM
i'd throw them some change in that case. not as much as "hey i'm a fish and need another tea refill every two minutes for 2 hours straight" tippage, but more than if i just walked in and grabbed it myself.
8/14/2013 8:54:07 PM
Change as in coins?
8/14/2013 8:56:11 PM
Once, I had pizzas delivered and all I had were 100's and no one else had cash. The girl that was delivering it ended up giving us the two pizza's free, but I told her when she got off, to come back to get the money. She ended up coming back at like 4 in the morning while we were still partying and ended up partying with us till the sun came up.
8/14/2013 8:57:35 PM
8/14/2013 8:58:40 PM
^^ cool story bro
8/14/2013 9:02:16 PM
ain't no party like a pizza partydid she shower and get all the dough dust off of her before she came? was her pussy like slick italian dressing or was it sticky like fresh-out-of-the-oven mozzarella? if the latter, did you peel it apart?
8/14/2013 10:57:00 PM
yea, if you didn't fuck her that story is lame
8/14/2013 10:59:46 PM
so he stiffed some delivery driver out of some pizzas and gave her a few Natty Lights all like "that should cover it sweet tits"classy
8/15/2013 10:45:39 AM
I have never tipped for any takeout because I had no idea I was "supposed" toAnd knowing now, I still will not tip for takeout.
8/15/2013 11:38:22 AM
if I buy takeout, I tend to try to have cash so the tip line can't even happen
8/15/2013 11:40:28 AM
I don't tip for carry out chinese food or pizza, nor have I done it for Outback except when it was on the company dime. What's really annoying is the tip line at Moe's and other quick service dine in places. Taking my order and assembly line constructing my sandwich or burrito does not deserve a tip. I'll tip at Baja or Ruckus, but only because I go there all the time and the food is consistently worth more than I am charged.Tips are for valets, bell hops, doormen, bartenders and people who serve you at an actual sit down restaurant.
8/15/2013 11:44:19 AM
what about movers. why do people tip movers?
8/15/2013 11:59:00 AM
Hmmm, good question. I'll tip furniture delivery guys if it's free delivery from the store/warehouse, but I'm not sure I'd tip movers if I just paid the company a couple grand to do that specific job.
8/15/2013 12:00:52 PM

8/15/2013 12:15:35 PM
8/15/2013 12:29:46 PM
^^ because giving the movers some cash is how you get them to take extra care of your shit
8/15/2013 12:30:33 PM
^ so you tip them in advance?
