It's fast growing, and I see lots of guys have like 500+ connections with 99+ endorsement. But there r also ppl having 0 connections but still successful.
So I'm confused.

LinkedIn has become more of a big deal as it has gotten older.

It's important for networking, and as a psudeo online resume.

Anyone who works in a professional capacity should at least have a profile and keep it updated.

Folks who LI isn't important for: people who have long-term stable jobs that don't plan on finding something new (teachers, police officers, ect.), and those who don't work professional jobs (garbage man, McDonalds clerk, waitress).

There are some guys paying a lot of effort promoting linkedin to ppl. They teach 5 hrs' class at wake tech.
Does it worth 5 hrs learning?

And how many connections does he have? http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=11932467&locale=en_US&trk=tyah2

linked in is a good tool for anyone in business or technical professions. it's a professional network that will be valuable when you're changing jobs, looking for clients or other leads where a network is important.

LI takes a long time to grow, so do it now if you haven't already. it'll pay off down the road.

I can't think of a period of time when network is not important.
