http://shine.yahoo.com/parenting/mother-declares-her-children-biggest-regret-her-life-153000908.htmlDo any of you regret children? In my mind Children==Bill==TRUE.So I'm leaning towards no children.

I, too, hope that you do not procreate
4/12/2013 9:15:00 AM
I do not regret not having children. So yes.I'm Krallum and I approved this message.
4/12/2013 9:23:53 AM
No I do not

I too am infinitely more selfish than my parents. This world could use some thinning out though
4/12/2013 9:41:40 AM
There are exceptions to every rule I guess.I used to sound just like some of you, my esteemed fellow posters, spouting the same stuff about overpopulation, drags on my time, selfishness, etc.
4/12/2013 9:49:12 AM
no.
4/12/2013 9:54:42 AM
No. But sometimes I'd like to put them in stasis so I could sleep in on a Saturday or go to the bathroom alone.

Men can pretty much always reproduce so asking a 20 year old is moot. The only meaningful question to me is if a women past their prime regrets avoiding pregnancy

there is no doubt in my mind that the vast majority (80%+) of parents who planned on having kids and did have them do not regret it...i'm sure there are times that they wish they could have some time away from their kids (even something as simple as going to the bathroom alone, like bottombaby mentioned), howeveri'm betting the majority of parents who had kids without planning for them also do not regret having kids...though they might wish they had been better preparedthe problem is that you have no idea what your life will be/would have been with/without kids...as it is with most things in life, there are advantages and disadvantages to both scenariosmy wife and i are planning on having kids within the next 18-24 months...and there are times that i look at my bank account and hate the idea of losing a lot of that money to caring for a child, and there are definitely times when i think of how much of an impact kids will have on our social lives, traveling, freedom in general, etc and i think i KNOW i could be happy without having themhonestly, if it turned out that we couldn't have our own, biological children, we'd probably just not have kids and would enjoy DINK status [Edited on April 12, 2013 at 10:22 AM. in lieu of affordable stasis options, i hear dog crate and padlock work welljust be sure to leave them a bowl of water if you're going to be gone for long
4/12/2013 12:56:18 PM
Not in the least.

No. I don't get enough sleep, they are a cesspool of discouraging germs, and I'm possibly going to have to have surgery on my stomach (diabetic complications) because of that last one but I am over the moon with gratitude for my intelligent miniature monster humans.

Its cool, no big deal girlI'm Krallum and I approved this message.
4/12/2013 2:22:29 PM
no way, my daughter is freakin awesome
4/12/2013 4:15:08 PM
I don't.My son is my greatest accomplishment. Not only has it made me insanely happy but my dad is the happiest that I have ever seen him. His grandson means the world to him. I mean, yes, sometimes I wish I could go downtown and knock back a few drinks instead of having to change dirty diapers all night but his smiles, coos and laughs are better than anything bars have to offer.

at this very moment, i am at a restaurant with my 2yo son, my 4 week old son, and thier 1yo cousin. it gets crazy at times and you may momentarily wish for death, but overall no regrets.

^^ Damn that's a low bar.

I'll be honest, the first 3-6 months of having kids was absolute hell. We had twins, so it was definitely hard. There were a few times during that where I probably would have taken it all back if you had given me the choice. Now that they are in their 4's, it's pretty cool.

4/12/2013 8:41:50 PM
Or 3
4/12/2013 8:57:58 PM
If you had lots of money, you could!
4/12/2013 11:34:27 PM
Or I could have a regular amount of money, do it anyway, and not be contributing to overpopulation.
4/13/2013 12:10:04 AM
Kids are a miracle. The first time that they smile or lol sticks with you forever
4/13/2013 2:33:45 AM
They're not a miracle. They're science.AND SCIENCE IS FUCKING AWESOME.
4/13/2013 2:15:16 PM
People consider simply the act of having kids an accomplishment?
4/13/2013 2:26:22 PM
Even though I was/am a young dad, I absolutely love my two kids and even when they are being brats on occasion, I would not change my life at all. Even if I don't have much compared to a lot of my friends, who cares. I'm happy and still happily married after a decade.

I knocked up some stripper and its been baby issues ever since. The baby isn't even here yet and I'm done. Not to mention i spent like $3k on that weekend vegas trip just to place the bet and state fucking lost to UNC in the worst football game ever while i was hungover. Then i had to fly back to the airport and sleep in my car that night because i had a fucking flat and my runflat was dead bc i drove it like 3 days before that because i just didnt have time to deal with it. i also banged my first non-white girl i got so hammered. What a shitty weekend id like to remove that whole thing from memory.
