All the other threads were too old to bump. Damage in question is to the front bumper and fender, don't want to deal with any sorta-fit and paint-over-it shenanigans. TWW, which body shop around here would you trust will do the best work?[Edited on March 1, 2013 at 2:30 PM. Reason : ]

if it isn't your problem go to a dealer for your car with a body shop... they will usually make it good as new... and have the highest quote in town.

I've had my BMW at True 2 Form in Garner twice, and been very happy both times.

When i had a claim years ago I had it repaired at Coates. I have no idea what their reputation is, but I was happy with the service they gave me. Maybe someone else can chime in if they are good or not, but I liked them. (disclaimer: that was probably 4 years ago)

The Honda dealership I used to deal with recommended Performance Auto Body (in Cary) to me. I've used them twice and have been very happy with their work. The shop manager Brooks is a nice guy. If you go there tell him I sent you.

i've been to coats once and had a great experience.and hendrick collision the last time. great work and painless process, but it took a few more days than promised.

The only collision work I've had done in the Raleigh area was at RJ & G on Hillsborough last summer. I was happy with the job they did and would go back there (had I not moved to Virginia, anyway).

I got an appointment with an insurance inspector next week. any chance i can talk them into replacing the whole bumper (and fender too)? they're probably not gonna want to go for it, especially since i'm a stickler about OEM parts.https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-qr7-nv9D8fA/UTJ_7V-5ZGI/AAAAAAAACGo/KG7ngH_kmEA/s800/IMG_20130301_130553.jpghttps://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-U0H_us1lA50/UTKAG8CoiVI/AAAAAAAACGw/2jt2QZcFX2o/s800/IMG_20130301_130559.jpg[Edited on March 2, 2013 at 5:47 PM. Ultimate auto body off Poole rd

so what do you guys think, based on the damage? will i be able to talk the body shop into replacing the bumper and the fender?
3/5/2013 2:26:41 PM
I think they'll replace the bumper if the paint is damaged to the point that it has to be repainted. IIRC, they can't really strip and repaint a plastic bumper like they can a piece of metal. Probably a good thing...I'm sure that car has picked up some rock chips over the years. The fender will probably be repaired. I don't think that's a bad thing. Aftermarket parts don't always fit as well and the VIN stamped on the fender will still match the rest of the car.[Edited on March 5, 2013 at 2:43 PM. Reason : l]

Has anyone used Haddock on Capital Blvd? Looking for something near downtown and it looks like my options are coates and haddock. I've used Coates since I mentioned them up the page, and while i didn't have any complaints, i was not quite as happy as the first time I've used them. I need to take the wife's car in and was wondering how Haddocks reputation is.(and the other person would be paying for it, so cost is not an issue (and i suppose for the estimate the higher the cost the better)[Edited on September 5, 2013 at 1:41 PM. I'm going to use the Haddock location near Wake Forest to fix some damage on my BMW. I'm using them because that's who Leith BMW uses, so that's good enough for me.

Anyone had their car stripped and completely repainted here in the area? Looking to get my Bronco redone and I'd like for it to look as good as possible without destroying my wallet. No body damage, just want it to not look 23 years old anymore.
