After how long will they arrange me an phone interview after my resume is referred by an employee if they are interested about me?Eager to know. Two days has passed.

It depends on the hiring manager, whether the position is already funded, the amount of people they are interviewing already, whether or not they've already selected someone. You should hear something from someone no later than a week after the referral.

^^ you are a dick. i'm not saying that tech talk is the right place for this thread, because it isn't. however, you seem to be pretty anxious so i will ease your mind. it depends on the urgency of the position, the amount of applicants they are considering and the screening process of the company.could be a month if it has to go to hr to be approved for interview, or it could be less than a day if he looks at your resume and is blown away. there are a lot of circumstances that can contribute to the amount of time. relax, take some deep breaths, get on with your life and when they call... they call.

I believe the words of ^^, as he currently works there.^ Where shall I post this question? Chitchat again?

As a hiring manager let me say this...When I am busy and not in a super big rush to fill a position, it can take me a month sometimes to sift through the applicants... so if a recruiter does not actively send me a couple of top quality people from the pool, then I may not ask for interviews to be setup for a while. When hiring is a top priority, I check the pool list about once a week. I prefer to receive an email from internal employees who have referred someone which highlights why the person is a good fit, so that if I agree, I don't have to dig into the hiring tools to dig out the candidate myself. Just simply getting a notification that someone was referred to me is useless (but that's how our current tools work ... no resume or anything attached to the notice).Once I have selected someone, my HR person's team takes about 3-5 days to get an interview setup typically. Not sure if all HR groups here are that slow or not.

They start interviews this week already.
2/22/2013 5:40:22 PM
you didn't get the job.
2/22/2013 8:12:40 PM
Could be. As they need to contact me already if they want me.
2/22/2013 9:59:06 PM
at first i was like Rest In Peacethen I was like Research Triangle Park
2/27/2013 7:30:17 AM

2/27/2013 8:00:54 AM

2/27/2013 8:24:25 AM

^^^ There's a lot of hiring in services right now. My team is getting 8 new hires and 8 interns next Monday.
2/27/2013 1:20:42 PM
If your resume was written as poorly as this
2/27/2013 7:27:51 PM
it's Cisco dude, it's filled with ESLs, they won't care about that
2/27/2013 8:00:05 PM
Yeah, it's technology company.
2/27/2013 8:10:41 PM
i never knew you could use 'ask' as a noun before working at Cisco
2/27/2013 10:21:54 PM
What? Where did I use ask?
2/27/2013 10:27:57 PM
You didn't, the current passive-aggressive corporate culture has this mis-use of "ask" running rampant.http://english.stackexchange.com/questions/4246/can-or-should-ask-ever-be-used-as-a-noun[Edited on February 28, 2013 at 9:12 AM. Reason : .]

^ yup.I interviewed a candidate who was a double CCIE for a TAC position. Technically, he blew it out of the water. The guy knew his shit. However, speaking to him over the phone was one of the most painful experiences. He had a very thick accent and rapid pace of speech, and trying to get him to slow down and speak more articulately just flustered him. Same result when we decided to give him a panel interview.I passed on him b/c there was no way he'd be successful being put in front of customers. That's not to say if you have an accent, you couldn't do the job. One can have a thick accent but still be articulate.[Edited on February 28, 2013 at 10:41 AM. Reason : .]

2/28/2013 5:06:50 PM
Mine was after reading the content of this thread, not a misreading of the thread title. And i think this is the 2nd appearance of RIP, not the third, and the first wasn't meant as a joke. But sure.]
2/28/2013 8:06:34 PM
no, it was the third
2/28/2013 9:42:28 PM
^x5 while doing the interview, were you browsing TWW as well?
3/1/2013 1:43:48 AM
ask - (n.) a less aggressive synonym for "requirement"
3/1/2013 3:24:43 PM
^^I can't say with certainty that I *didn't*
3/1/2013 3:50:28 PM
No offense. But talking to first level Cisco TAC is like talking to a wall.
3/1/2013 8:29:59 PM
^^"Ask" is a pretty common term in Microsoft as well, and is in many other large tech companies. An "Ask" is to denote a requirement you wish to put on an individual, team or project that you don't own or control. It's a way to denote the difference between coordination between independent groups, where requirements indicate a top-down dependency.

Everyone can't work for the big companies in RTP. If more people would stop setting their hearts on the Cisco, Sas, IBM's of the world, just maybe they would have a job.BIGGER COMPANY, BETTER COMPETITION.
3/2/2013 8:22:35 AM
^^^pretty much. I've spent a lot of years cleaning up the messes they've made.
3/3/2013 12:15:51 AM

You can make bank working at start ups and get company equity which turns into cash money when your company explodes.Plus big companies love seeing that shit on resumes, they think it's proof that you're innovative and hard working.
