We're looking for an IT assistant to help in an office of about 60 employees. The office is about 10 minutes from campus. We can work around class schedules. Here is a job description below. Thanks,RobertAn assistant is needed to help administer all aspects of IT in a company that has multiple locations and lots of mobile workers. We’re about to go through a series of upgrades and deployments of new systems and need help with the day-to-day work. Primary tasks will be directly working with end users. All machines are running either Windows XP, 7 or 8. In addition to laptops and desktops, you will need to support managed iOS devices and VOIP phones (Shoretel). Some tasks will include setting up, testing, and troubleshooting new and current machines. There will be regular software upgrades on both the server level and client level. Some server administration will need to be performed in a Server 08 environment. A general understanding of networking is needed including topology, VPN, routing, and firewalls. The position is part time with the potential of full time. A minimum of 10 hours a week is needed, but there is enough to work 20-30 hours a week most of the time. Hours are somewhat flexible.
