Anyone have any experience with VM Motori diesels? Know anything about the A630 ( http://www.vmmotori.it/en/01/00/01/dettaglio.jsp?id=9)?

http://www.allpar.com/mopar/V6/VM-RA-diesel.html

http://www.dieselpowermag.com/tech/1208dp_banks_vm_motori_630t_v6_diesel_engine/ (page isn't coming up properly for me, maybe it'll be fixed soon)

If they make a 4x4, I may just hold off on picking up a quarter-ton pickup and put that cash into a down-payment. Chrysler isn't new to diesel trucks and given the success of the 2013 Ram 1500 I'm a little less concerned about buying the first generation model. Now it's just getting over my distaste for buying new.

What say ye?

You have to use Internet Explorer. The same publisher runs all the automotive magazines, and their websites are stuck in 2002.

VM's been providing diesels in Chrysler vehicles for 20 years, and AMC vehicles before that. Cherokees, Wranglers, Minivans, you name it. Just not in America. Americans don't buy diesels.

The Jeep Liberty CRD is a VM Motori, only made from 2005-2006. I've been looking into them a little recently and people seem to be pretty high on the motor (its the rest of the vehicle that's questionable.) Lots of people claiming low 30s mpg on the highway, oh yeah and 300 lb/ft at 2000 rpm.

the shifter on that thing is quite possibly the funniest thing that I have seen today....it just looks way out of place in that interior.

very low.

2.9 to 4.9% seems fairly common.

i like how 'yota still uses 3rd member type axles since they ripped them off from ford in the 60s. But ford is too fucking cheap to keep making them.
