I'm not sure if King should've gone there, but he's writing a sequel to The Shining. Danny Torrence is now a hospice worker who uses the shining to help people die. Sounds like it will also have the "Low Men" in it from The Dark Tower series.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/books/booknews/9554162/Stephen-King-announces-sequel-to-The-Shining-after-36-years-of-suspense.html

I recently read the shining and then immediately read Doctor Sleep. I have a lot of things to say about both of them, but I will summarize my thoughts for this post... The book brought so much more feeling and depth than the Stanley Kubrick movie... don't get me wrong... i love the kubrick version, but the King book blew it out of the water. The sequel not only lived up to my hopes, but exceeded them.

I just re-read both the shining and Dr. Sleep. I also watched the Kubrick shining today. Still prefer stephen king's original. (although jack nicholson's performance was epic.)
