Yes, it's going in the Harrison Square Shopping Center. Where the Sam's Club used to be.

I was thinking either there by sams club or they just cleared a bunch of land closer to Harrison and Maynard. Not sure though. I bet the people at Gander Mtn aren't happy.

i'm a little disappointed about this, in a backwards way - since there has never been one nearby, it's always been a treat to stop at these stores when traveling.

Gander Mountain is getting shit from the mayor of Morrisville to stop selling guns or some crap. I'm sure it's exactly what they had in mind when they built that nice new store last year

and that shopping center is a pain in the ass

Gander mountain is an awful store. Other than having a bunch of guns, and the place is overpriced and overrated. The fishing selection is horrible, and the duck hunting section is garbage. It is only a small step above Dicks.

The kind of folks who shop at GOPC wouldn't be caught dead at a Bass Pro Shop.

REI might be a little different, but the folks who go to the almost-ITB REI aren't going to Cary in the first place.

I park over there a lot, and I never see anyone there, so the fact that it has taken this long surprises me (if it is, in fact, closing)

My husband shops there for glassware for his catering company. That Carolina Pottery is a lot more convenient than the one at the Smithfield Outlets.

Fuck America and its commercialism. We don't need this shit. Drive to Concord or just north of Richmond.

The Morrisville Gander Mountain is patronized by gun slinging Asians/Indians.

Seriously, in Cary? This clearly belongs in Garner, or Durham. I can't believe Cary would allow itself to be tainted by the likes of a Bass Pro Shop. It took forever just to get a Bojangles for crying out loud.

I think it's going to be closer to the maynard/harrison intersection. They've cleared a lot of land and google maps is showing some future streets there already.. https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ll=35.806572,-78.781135&spn=0.004933,0.010568&t=h&z=17

It seems like a really weird place to put a Bass Pro. Most Bass Pro shops seem to be located near a lake. Why are they putting one in Cary?

The one in Concord is nowhere near Lake Norman, it's like 40 minutes away in a mall.

It is pretty centrally located between 3 big lakes here in the triangle. Falls, Harris and Jordan.

Yeah.... those aren't really big lakes. Falls is the largest of the 3 and it's just over a third of the size of Lake Norman.

Well I used to live there, and I never considered Concord Mill mall to be close. I guess it's not too far if you are truly desperate for overpriced gear that you can find for sale actually on the lake. Plus there is always traffic, have fun trying to be in and out at that mall

Well Cary is about 30 miles closer than Concord to me, so I guess this is a plus. Probably still not going to make the drive though.
