Let me know if you guys can see this. I kinda doubt it, due to privacy settings.I'm not willing to put it on YouTube; bad things have happened to people I know over completely innocuous flight videos posted to YouTube. It's against my better judgment that I even post it on here.

I was at this particular airshow...this is maybe my favorite airshow performance ever...i think it's even more badass than the dudes thrashing their unlimited-class aerobatic aircraft. The video doesn't capture how low he is most of the time and how tight his margins of error are. I was uncomfortable watching it, haha.

so that's what 300 MPH looks like up close, from the ground
12/13/2012 10:36:13 PM
The famous Bob Hoover, also known for being a fighter and test pilot contemporary of Chuck Yeager (was also involved in the X-1 program). That, and doing airshow demonstrations where he'd shut off the engines of twin-engine business aircraft and do aerobatics and a landing while gliding.

^^cool! I didnt know there were "vertical" g's involved in rolls
12/14/2012 6:33:14 PM
Yeah a roll can be done at 1g, or you can push negative as you go inverted.

Here's me in a [Legend] Cub...clips from 2 flights done over the last few weeks. I would have had some killer footage from a 3rd flight, working the pattern at another airport, cruising down the beach, and a steep descent (30-40 degrees, I'd guess) and some fairly hard (50-60 degrees AOB) turns around some fields out in Alabama at 200-300' feet...and flying LOW around the edge of a bay...but the GoPro shook so much where I had it mounted on that flight that the footage was unusable. At any rate, this is a decent little video of Cub flying:[Edited on April 12, 2015 at 10:53 PM. ...and here's an aileron roll in a Sabreliner:That thing has got to be the most maneuverable business jet ever made, haha. I bet I've been inverted it in a hundred times. Maybe double that. We've done inverted ridgeline crossings in it at 500'. It would pull 3g+ in the break or if you needed the pull on an air-to-air intercept (the Navy version has an F-16 RADAR fitted in the nose)
