It's Christmas time and I'm in search of a new bag. I have a laptop bag that I've been using for years but it doesn't work that well anymore. I'm looking for something lightweight that will let me easily get to a pocket without ripping open a bunch of velcro. I like bags that can keep pens organized and will typically be carrying a tablet and on occasion a 15" mobile workstation laptop. I like clean, simple looking bags.

What kind of bag do you use? Anyone have a recommendation?

I got this in school and am still using it at work, it's been 7+ years

very good quality.

I have a friend who's had this bag for the last several years and he's never said anything bad about it. It still looks pretty good.

I know they make some smaller lighter versions that might be of more use to you, but quality wise I've never had an issue with Mobile Edge.

depends on what i'm doing...

i have a $300 tumi i use most of the time... it's 4 years old and looks brand new.

I just got a Nice Swiss Gear laptop back-pack for field work.

For interviews etc. i use a real leather one from j crew.

I like the aesthetics of the Mission Workshops bags, minus the velcro flaps they look pretty nice

I wish the Monty had better pen organization

I prefer backpacks. I got an Ogio from my last job and I love it. It's nice to have both hands free if I need to carry in supplies to an appointment.

If I had more to carry I might go with a backpack, I just don't need all that

I think I've seen that before, where was that from? Not what I'm looking for, but a field tech here needs something like that.

I got the large screen bag even though my laptop is 13.3". Gives me a little extra room for my knick knacks when only traveling with carry-ons.

I have an older version of this:

It looks like the newer one has a few more pockets.

i actually have a jack spade, i use it for situations when I need a nicer bag. for everyday use though, its just not comfortable enough.

right now the rei quantum and mission workshops bags are top of my list
