Don't forget the woodworker community (poke around here: http://www.ncwoodworker.net)...you could commission a table from a local woodworker and you could get exactly what you want. Slab tables are popular to build for those who have the space and equipment...

Also, if you want to buy the slab yourself ashevillehardware.com is a great source, if you don't mind the drive (I mean hey, its Asheville, why would you not want to go there? )
