Lovely. Attacking British and German embassies now as well. Sure, why not.

Apparently they're protesting the made by an American insult to islam in Australia now. Can't say that it makes any sense, but fuck it we're talking about a backwards ass group of ignorant fucks anyway so why should it make sense.

Clashes between Muslim protesters and police have been reported in Sidney today.

Don't worry, in 500 years or so Islamic culture will catch up to where Western civilization is now.

This is obviously not a demonstration of anti-American sentiment, because the Muslim world began easing its hostilities towards us when BHO was elected, and the proudest things of his three years in office has been helping to restore a sense of respect for America around the world.

^^i know. he said that everybody in the whole-wide world would love him and love america. even somali pirates, white supremacists, islamic fundamentalists, and extremists like yourself. it didn't happen, there are still people who don't look at him and/or america favorably, and therefore he is a liar, and these protests are all his fault. He now has the blood of the ambassador on his hands because of this movie that he allowed to be shown. For shame.

(on a side note, people that riot like this over a stupid film about a silly religion are complete idiots)

I think a lot of the fundamentalist Christians are cavemen. Luckily, we have a government that allows them to express their beliefs freely without letting them carry out their beliefs against others.

Above countries kindly saying "no thanks."

You just can’t figure out these Muslim extremist’s..!!!

A cheap film about Muslim prophet…no one killed by the film. No mosques destroyed or holy Muslim books burned. Yet Muslims riot and kill in the streets all over the world.

Well let me ask…Where is the outrage and riots over the slaughter of Muslims, the destruction of hundreds of Muslim Mosques of every sect, the buring of thousands of Muslim holy books….all in Syria by Bashar Assad the ruler of Syria. TELL ME…where are the Muslim nations? Where…are the Muslim’s who are outraged?

Bashar Assad has mass murdered over 39,000 Syrian Muslims !! Butchered unarmed Muslim civilians…men, women, children and babies.
Assad has arrested or disappeared over 235,000 other Muslim Syrian people. He has slit their throats after capture, burned them alive in their homes, burried them in mass graves hundreds at a time.

Where is this so called Muslim outrage ???

None….nothing anywhere !! Not one protest against Assad’s attackes on Muslims and Muslim mosques !!

Yet…today…and I mean right now !!! Assad is shelling with artillery, and bombing with planes Muslim cities, villages and towns…just as he has for 19 months. Not one Muslim on TV, or in the streets to protest this slaughter!

Yet here we have Muslims all across the world as “Movie Critics” burning and killing over the insult ???

What about the actual act, the actual destruction of Muslim People and their Holy places of worship? How can Muslim’s let Bashar Assad act..and not protest such atrocities against Muslims?

If there is this little outrage over Syria’s Muslims being slaughtered …then all this rioting and outrage over an unpublished movie nad it’s trailer is just a bunch of Muslim BS! Useless waste of lives and energy.

If Muslims don’t care about what is going on in Syria …..Muslim’s just don’t care…AT ALL.

There's nothing wrong with protesting, they're just protesting for what seems like a dumb reason (being offended because of religion-- is there ever a good reason to protest? seems like people call all protests dumb anyway).

The murder at the Libyan embassy is thought to have been from a planned terrorist attack, it doesn't count as protest turned rowdy.

haha. telling someone to "fire up their neurons to dispute" an irrational tirade from some extremists commenter on a right-wing website against all the muslims of the world, generalizing them all as one singular people. That's rich.

(although i agree, the outrage against a stupid film is.... ridiculous and should be ridiculed)

It's a shame that you don't have a base level of humility. The most minimal sense of self-doubt would at least help you question your positions before spouting off emotional arguments and then declaring yourself intelligent.

You know, normally, holding a mirror up to your opinions would be enough to at least expose you to the absurdity of your own positions. Yet, you're so comfortable in your own ignorance that you've convinced yourself that you are an intelligent person. And that's really sad. Sincerely, it deeply upsets me that there are people like you walking around with a level of undeserved confidence. Truly, it cripples me knowing that you cannot argue with people like you, because you've internally shut off the mechanism for debate and dialogue. I might have to pick up a recreational drug habit just prevent myself from thinking too much about the topic.

You've wallowed so deeply into an ideology that you've cemented at such an early age, that you've closed every possible avenue for intellectual growth. You completely lack the necessary amount of criticism that is needed for honest self examination.

Look, homey. You didn't quote Reuters. You quoted a comment made by an anonymous poster on the internet. It has zero accountability. Just because it was attached to a reputable source, you've convinced yourself that it is a worthy topic of examination. It could easily have been made by some balding, middle-aged asshole who sustains himself on Cheetos and diet soda. And worst of all, there is nothing of relevance in the post. It simply states that Assad is committing genocide against his own people, which isn't even up for dispute. But it then posits the idea that Muslim's, acting as unified bloc, are not enraged at this atrocity without offering any evidence to this claim. It completely ignores the fact that many of the people who are being exterminated, are the very ones who oppose his actions. The post literally has zero relevance to the current discussion, and only serves to deflect the honest criticism that should be directed at US foreign policy as it relates to the current wave of protests radiating outward from the Middle East.

Fuck, you're stupid.

Actually, saying that there isn't outrage from muslims about the wholesale slaughter of Syrians is pretty fair. Have you seen much in terms of criticism from muslim leaders? Have you seen much about it on Al-jazeera or other major middle east news outlets?

Maybe I've just missed it, but outside of Morsi in Egypt I haven't heard a peep from any other muslim middle eastern leader. The most positive statements coming out in favor of the anti-Assad "rebels" seems to be coming from groups like Al-Qaeda who are pretty supportive of any instability. Maybe that explains some of why the rest of the arab world is so quiet, but honestly the lack of outrage from the Muslim community about what's happening in Syria vs. the world wide furor over a low budge movie trailer is pretty astonishing.

It does seem that culturally muslims seem to accept violence between muslims a lot more readily than they'll accept any slight to their religion from outside the muslim world.

First page:

"Is al-Assad Losing Controls?"

Turkey-Syria relations: Taking a nose dive?"

"How can peace be brought to Syria?"

^^And again, I point out that there just isn't much from the Arab world decrying the violence or condemning Assad, who is pretty clearly in the wrong.

^Yeah, I mean Iran is still fully supporting Assad and most of the rest of the Arab world is non-commital and silent. Again, maybe I've been missing the calls from other muslim leaders for assad to step down and stop slaughtering people.

There is a lot of nutjob extremists here too, but no one thinks they represent all Christians. The compulsive need to declare that regular, violent outbreaks over nonsensical stuff like cartoons, movies, books, etc. is somehow ok because most muslims aren't actively involved in it is ridiculous.

The fact of the matter is that culturally it's acceptable because there is no backlash from the rest of muslim society for doing it. I think we all know that most muslims aren't burning property and killing people, but that doesn't change the fact that this is almost an identical reaction to a newspaper cartoon 7 years ago. Where are the signs of growth and maturity, why has no lesson been learned about appropriate reactions? If it's not a culture wide issue then why is there no self-policing? These are fair questions to ask, and the conclusions that were posted in the text that y0willy0 quoted are not unreasonable conclusions to draw given what you see and don't see.

Recent Western extremist events such as the Wisconsin Sikh temple shooting and Norway shooting show what Islamophobia results in.

There is a lot of poverty and lack of education in the Middle East which will take time to fix. Just because Arab Spring is over doesn't mean all the problems were solved. I think extremists need to be dealt with and terrorists need to be hunted.

I'm just saying people need to be careful when they make broad generalizations about a group of people...

This will fall on deaf ears, unfortunately. People would rather selectively pick and choose which incidents to draw their conclusions. Christian fundamentalist violence occurs often, as is the case with most forms of fundamentalists. The Norway shootings, the Sikh temple shootings, religious temple vandalism, abortion clinic bombings, and many others are done in the name of Christianity, and nobody requests that all Christian's everywhere condemn the violence, because it should be obvious that they are opposed to it. Yet we hold Muslim's to a different set of standards, which is not constructive.

Edit: Actually, I should rephrase that. We hold Muslim's to a different set of standards because it excuses our continued occupation of the Middle East. It's much easier to reconcile the damage we are causing by our continued presence if we view all of our 'enemies' as savages who need to be civilized by our empire.

We hold Muslims to a different set of standards because of the scale of violence.

You listed domestic criminal issues.

Not the topic of discussion at all.

These savages need to be civilized by their own government and peers. You're right, we shouldn't be over there at all.

Very true.

And on top of this, the "Islamophobic" response only serves to stoke existing anger and create new anger.

However, governments based on theocracies, like many of the mid-east countries including Israel, are dumb ideas. You'll always have these types of problems as long as government and religion stick too closely together.

Great, that's all we need in this world now... some rich liberal shitheads to intentionally insult a figurehead for the sake of insulting, and the figurehead's poor conservative wild followers to run amok destroying public property and killing people.

Looks like the prophecy in Islam saying there will be an epic showdown (towards the end of times) between Muslims aligned with good Christians and evil people (bad Christians aligned with Jews and Atheists) is going to be realized one day. Wonder how many people will die
