Hi all! I have a question. About 10-11 years ago I got a ticket on NCSU campus for speeding. It was reduced to 30 in 25, and I paid the court fee and went about my way feeling good.

Now I need to get documentation about this ticket. I need to show that I had the ticket and that I took care of it appropriately.

Does anyone know how I can do it? Yes, I know that I can try calling someone and ask. I'll do that, too, but I'm also asking here in case someone knows for sure. Thanks a lot.

ugh, you can google this shit or call the dmv or go to the website. the short version is for 8 bucks you can get a copy of your driving record, which includes everything.

The driving record doesn't show it. I have it, and it is clean.

Miraculously my wife just found the original ticket. However, I will still need to try and get some documentation proving that it's been taken care of.

Our government bureaucracy seriously cares about this?

Wouldnt the clean driving record be evidence it was taken care of?

Go to the clerk of court's office (or call and have them mail) on the first floor of the courthouse and ask them for a certified copy of the disposition of this case. $3

If it was a campus ticket I doubt the DMV would have it on record, try campus police.

All citations go through the clerk of court, the campus police have nothing to do with it once its sent to the courts. trust me

Holy shit, it is MathFreak!

And holy shit I was in the car at the time (infraction happened on the road between the Dining Hall and the Health Center), he picked me up and we went for a movie or a meal. That's when I first him as well. IIRC, he was going 40 . This has brought back some serious memories!!!

How you been man!

you can pay for your certified dmv record (costs approx. $10, goes back 7 years, but it looks like that's not far enough/you've already tried that option).

if you're in Raleigh, go to room 102 in the courthouse, ask them to print out the particular ticket in question and ask 'em to stamp it. that option will be free, and since it's stamped that should work for certification purposes.

What?!?! I didn't know you could get a free copy with a stamp on it.

It's like 25 bucks.

if he just wants to show that one particular ticket has been dismissed, he can get a print out of just that case.

it'll show it's been dismissed or that the judgment was satisfied and the clerk will probably stamp it if you ask nicely.

now, if you want the whole record... that's not going to happen. it sounded as if he only needed to show the outcome of one particular case, and he can get that for free in the clerk's office.
