The 2012 season starts this Saturday at 5pm for the women vs William & Mary. They need to make the ACC Tourney this season. The women were 10-8-2 (W-L-T) (1-7-2 ACC) last season.

The men open at UNC-Wilmington on the 18th in an exhibition game and then play at Liberty on the 24th followed by the home opener vs Mercer on the 26th at 4pm. Hope to see improvement as Coach Findley enters his 2nd season. The men were 7-11-2 (2-6 ACC) last season.

Both the men and women will have certain games televised on RSN/ESPN3 and the women will be featured in a Fox Soccer NSCAA Game of the Week at Virginia.

Looking forward to a good season for both and a loud student section behind the goals. GO STATE

If you watch a lot of the webcasts on GoPack.com, you'll notice a HUGE quality increase with all the men's and women's games that are covered there. We're now able to produce the games from the Reynolds control room, so all the games will be in HD, and the control room is getting a ton of upgrades (new replay, CG, switcher), so look forward to that. (That's also why you'll be seeing a good amount of games on ESPN3, for all sports, this year)

Exhibition ends in a 1-1 draw. They played 3 30 minute periods. State scored on a PK in the 1st period and W&M scored with about 7 minutes remaining in the game.

Last season, soccer and softball broadcasts were produced using the old ACC mobile kits (standard def pieces of shit). The fiber is getting run over to the soccer field so that both (I think) soccer and softball can be produced from the Reynolds control room.

and yeah, originating in HD. Last I heard they were working variable bitrate streaming (which I hope can provide higher quality streams).

Women lost to Cincinnati 3-1. Cincy had 2 goals from distance in the first half. State got 1 back off a great header from freshman Caroline Gentry (Taylor and Zach's sister). Cincy responded with a chip shot goal.

Both Men and Women win today in comeback fashion 2-1. Women won in regulation, but the men won off an incredible individual effort from Nazmi Albadawi for the golden goal with under 5 min remaining in the 1st OT.

Both the men and women had great weekends again. The women beat up on 2 Southern Conference opponents defeating The Citadel 5-0 and Elon 3-0. The men played at Duke in the John Rennie Nike Invitational defeating Delaware 6-0 and then getting a 2-1 comeback win over Santa Clara.

The women return to action this Friday at home vs App State and the men have a road game against UNC Greensboro.

Women defeat Appalachian State 3-1 to move to 5-2 on the season. They travel to Kansas for a matchup on Sunday.

Men defeat UNC Greensboro to remain undefeated at 5-0. It's the best start since 1987. A win against Marist at home on Sunday will match the best start since 1982.

Women lost to Kansas 3-2. Tied 1-1 at the half and then Kansas scored 2 quick ones. State answered back in the 82nd minute, but couldn't get an equalizer. They begin ACC play at Virginia at 7pm on Thursday. The game will be televised on Fox Soccer.

Men beat Marist 3-1. The 6-0 start is the best start since 1982. ACC play opens this Friday as #4 Maryland comes to Raleigh.

SWPC came around and made the volleyball game and this game and either/or event. I know VB is UNC but I hope more people go to soccer, soooo much larger of a game. Between the best start in X years, ESPN3, #1 Maryland, etc.

Hope it's as packed as the UNC game was two years ago, or as packed as possible, anyway.

Not a good start to the weekend for either the men or women. Women lost 2-0 to Miami last night and men lost at BC 2-1 tonight. BC scored in the 62 and 65 min. State responded in the 85', but couldn't get an equalizer.

Women lost to Clemson 1-0 on Sunday and will likely finish the ACC slate winless unless they can pull off a miracle vs UNC at home on Thursday.

Women drop the season finale 4-1 to UNC. We scored 5:18 into the game and played good defense until UNC scored in the 66th and then 79th. It was a good fight, but just couldn't get any offense going the 2nd half. Hopkins had 13 saves compared to only 2 for the UNC keeper. State finishes the season 5-14 (0-10).
