Holset HX-83 beside BW S400 chassis turbo (smaller one) S400 beside coke can:(hx83's are sometimes used in diesel pulling trucks & some drag trucks)

7/26/2012 11:32:47 AM

7/26/2012 11:38:16 AM
i bet that thing lags like a diesel at least that thing's got some RPM available to get the paddle spinning!...spooling time.... with (2) HX82's in a compound setup:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_2A55Yq-d4&feature=relmfu[Edited on July 26, 2012 at 11:52 AM. Reason : -]

I like how the truck censored its own time with smoke.....sorry guys too fast for tv...yeah i bet that supra you can probably take a nap between hitting the 2-step and the turbo starting to spool.
7/26/2012 11:59:59 AM
bitchez please
7/26/2012 1:15:31 PM
^looks like it's blowing your hair
7/26/2012 1:22:02 PM
lol i win.. with my custom some bullshit flew into my inlet ultra light weight compressor wheel.
7/26/2012 2:05:05 PM
... let me bestow this gem to tww...."Billet batmowheel"apparrently sells like hot-cakes
7/26/2012 2:13:12 PM
7/26/2012 2:13:20 PM
see.... i did that before it was popular... just with a chunk of my stock turbo inlet pipe at around 100,000 rpm
7/26/2012 2:15:45 PM
hipster compressor wheels, eh?
7/26/2012 2:45:15 PM
EXACTLY!Its like using spoiled poloroid film for a pic...sure it may look kinda cool but functionally fucked lol.
7/26/2012 5:10:03 PM

7/27/2012 7:43:13 AM
axial turbine, still a centrifugal compressor though. hmm.
7/27/2012 2:05:50 PM
never noticed that, nice catch.
7/27/2012 2:49:10 PM
that is a big turbo[Edited on July 27, 2012 at 9:07 PM. Reason : d]
7/27/2012 9:06:24 PM
dammit, since i'm already going to be pulling the head on the s2000, I wish I had the extra bank to throw a turbo on the fucker
7/27/2012 9:07:33 PM
^well, credit cards are a good start (worked for me )
7/27/2012 9:36:52 PM
hahaha, yea, I've already used the one (that i've allowed myself) free for all, max out my credit card as fast as possible spending spree
7/28/2012 2:42:08 AM
we tend to have quite a few snails around our housethis little dbb gt2560rs6262sphx30, hx35, hx40and this monster t6 footprint caterpillar diesel turbo thing. a 2L soda bottle fits in the compressor inlet.
7/28/2012 12:26:59 PM
^GOD that Cat turbo is cool. What it off of?
7/28/2012 4:04:19 PM
^^LOL, is that on your fireplace mantel?
7/28/2012 4:46:42 PM
^^ huuuuuuuge inline-6 diesel engine for a pump or generator or something of the sort. this turbo was actually one of twins. ^ fuck yeah, our mantelpiece kicks ass. spare/old turbos, valve covers, cams, destroyed pistons, and whatever other random shit we can fit.
7/28/2012 4:53:07 PM
^ recent shot of said mantel. the black one is my housemate's old ct26 (stock turbo on his MK3 Supra 7MGTE).[Edited on July 29, 2012 at 2:25 PM. Reason : :]
7/29/2012 2:20:08 PM
^Must restrain from trying to buy that from you. I have a blown Deere 6.7L genset turbo sitting on top of my shop fridge. I repainted it and polished the inlets.[Edited on July 29, 2012 at 7:16 PM. Reason : .]
7/29/2012 7:16:12 PM
I spy a 240sx headgasket[Edited on July 29, 2012 at 8:51 PM. Reason : and cams]
7/29/2012 8:50:36 PM
^ to be exact... two dohc KA headgaskets, a KA dipstick, SR cams, 7M cams, a gt2560 turbine housing, a z32 rear caliper, a broken s13 rear toe rod, some GM gear set, a bunch of wheel spacers, two valves, a valve spring, a big water pump housing, a cat turbo, a ct26, a collection of nuts/bolts/washers/etc welded into a cool name plate, and a drift event trophy made of sohc pistons, cam journals, and spark plugs.basically all the cool/interesting shit laying around gets crammed up there.

I want more info on these huge turbos. What displacement engine will spin them, what size boat they go to, or what sort of mining vehicle/huge generator...
8/7/2012 10:35:56 PM
no idea what thats from. I just saw it from my friend's pictures on fb
8/8/2012 8:12:25 AM
can't see the backside, might not have a turbine housing. that could be a water pump from a city's water treatment/distribution facility. go poke around Raleigh's old Bain water treatment plant, they have rows of massive water pumps, some very similar to that.[Edited on August 8, 2012 at 11:34 AM. Reason : :]
8/8/2012 11:32:50 AM
Water pump impellers DO NOT look like that. ( I deal with them all day )Could be a helicopter jet engine piece too.
8/8/2012 7:18:51 PM
I want to do a newer larger turbo and flash
