Wade Ave Exit FTMFW
7/19/2012 11:38:54 PM
well, at least I don't drive on any part of the affected road regularly.
7/20/2012 12:04:39 AM
by the time i move back to the triangle, this will be done.
7/20/2012 12:07:41 AM
Joy.
7/20/2012 12:09:56 AM
Great what I use for work daily and by daily I mean up to 4 times a day.
7/20/2012 1:54:40 AM
i thought this thread was bumped from like 5 years ago since its been shit that long already
7/20/2012 1:59:15 AM
If its any consolation, this road really needs it. This part of I-40 is basically falling apart
7/20/2012 7:11:24 AM
while they're at it, go ahead and start adding more lanes.
7/20/2012 8:15:28 AM
I'm a bit confused by where they say they're doing construction.
7/20/2012 9:22:41 AM

7/20/2012 9:34:41 AM
theyre gonna make you use the toll road one way or another
7/20/2012 9:38:58 AM
^^If they are going to result to nuke it from orbit please include Western Blvd. On south bound US1 people need to slow to a crawl to take the exit and you have people merging into the left lane, brings the whole highway to a crawl. If it's raining or looks like it might rain in the next 30 minutes that whole area becomes one big pile of idiot.Anyway, the backup usually starts there and is just further complicated by the Hillsborough and 40/Wade exits. It'd be nice to have another lane or two and a complete redesign of the Western exit.[Edited on July 20, 2012 at 9:42 AM. Reason : -]

This isn't a new internet posting, but the source seems legit: http://www.ncdot.gov/projects/I40ImprovementsRaleigh/And it looks like there will be some improvements! They're adding on ramp / exit ramp lanes that will run all the way from exit to exit. This is quoted from the website:

I live south of I-40 off South Saunders and work in Morrisville. How the fuck am I supposed to drive around this disaster?
7/20/2012 10:22:32 AM
Adapt and stop bitching?
7/20/2012 10:27:05 AM
hey man, I "know" plenty of roads to take. They're all slow though. Asking for insight from others isn't really bitching. So fuck off alias
7/20/2012 10:31:34 AM
You think there's like a hidden expressway somewhere
7/20/2012 10:32:48 AM

7/20/2012 11:40:13 AM

Pussies. I started driving when the beltline was two lanes all the way around. Well, halfway around because I40 had not been built from Durham to Wilmington. Of course, this was prior to a lot of the influx of new residents in te triangle. When the beltline widening project started, the whole goddamn thing was like that forever. Before the widening, the whole beltline was a parking lot every day at rush hour.
7/20/2012 1:11:29 PM
yeah, i remember getting stuck in stand-still traffic all the fucking time when that mess finally happened
7/20/2012 1:22:22 PM
So from the west, they suggest taking 440 from Wade Avenue toward Glenwood Avenue, past the New Bern Avenue exit?According to the map linked below, the stretch of 440/64 between 264 and 40 will also be in the work zone.http://www.wral.com/news/local/story/11334970/

I'm happy i'm moving away from this shit. I mean i'll still have to deal with it, but not daily.

Good thing this only took 3 years.
3/22/2017 5:53:13 PM
driving from Durham to Morrisville and back every day is an epic cluster fuck and it gets worse every damn day.[Edited on March 22, 2017 at 11:06 PM. Reason : typo]
3/22/2017 11:06:29 PM
If you are driving through this construction on your way between Durham and Morrisville, you really fucked up
3/23/2017 6:34:48 AM
^seriously.Back on topic, I'm extremely confused at this point because it would appear that all Granite (contractor doing the work) construction vehicles and equipment have been removed from the construction zones. Outside of a few dumpsters they're all gone
