http://disney.go.com/wreck-it-ralph/Just saw the trailer for this while seeing Brave. I am not at all ashamed to admit that I almost squealed when I saw the support group - especially Zangief. This movie is going to be the ultimate cameo and easter egg hunt. I really, really want for this to be good because I love the premise so much. Poor kids nowadays wouldn't even know what an arcade is, so it'll probably fly right over their heads, though...Disney had better find a way to get a Tron cameo into this.

Looks nice. Regular Disney has been doing well with concepts turned on their heads (Bolt specifically) and the cast of this rules.
6/25/2012 12:06:27 AM
The support group, Dr. Robotnik! aaaaah! This really could be amazing, and it *almost* makes me wish Pixar got a hold of this idea first, but its almost too good of an idea to screw up? Right?
6/25/2012 12:20:10 AM
There's a playable version of the game somewhere on the interwebs.
6/25/2012 8:09:13 AM
This looks rad.

wow...interesting concept.should be a good blend of more recent stuff, plus a few obscure references to vintage stuff for the adults.i just wonder how they secured the rights to all those different characters!
6/25/2012 5:23:55 PM
No kidding, huh? I'm psyched that Capcom let them use the Street Fighter characters. Hopefully we'll see many more.

you're right, licensing is always that simple!movie studio: "hey, the great director steven spielberg is making a movie about this alien, and we think it would be cute to portray him as loving M&M's. it will be seen by hundreds of millions of people. can we use your candy? the alien will be likeable and funny."mars, inc. This is not a case where the other parties have to worry about the images of their respective properties. It's a Disney flick with the hippest cast available. There are no questions about integrity and I'm sure the price was right.
6/25/2012 7:28:57 PM
I will absolutely see this. If nly for the villan support group.scene.
6/26/2012 9:09:19 AM
will definitely see this.
6/26/2012 10:13:21 AM
I rarely ever have high expectations for movies, but the easter eggs alone have me really excited about this one.
6/27/2012 8:34:20 PM
According to one of my friends who went to the panel for this movie at San Diego Comic-Con, Nintendo refused to let Disney put their characters in this game because they felt that they "are too big." WTF, Nintendo. Have you not noticed that you could really use some good PR these days?
7/15/2012 10:04:20 PM
^I guess that's why Bowser is right beside Zangief in the trailer? Because Nintendo wouldn't allow them to use any Nintendo characters.
7/15/2012 10:51:12 PM
Saw the trailer for this when I went to see Spider-Man. Definitely saw Bowser and I think another Nintendo character somewhere in there.
7/15/2012 11:21:28 PM
My guess is no A grade character will make it in.No MarioNo SonicNo LinkNo Master Chief
7/15/2012 11:37:20 PM
I thought that I had remembered seeing Bowser as well. I wonder if something may have changed in post-production? Or perhaps Nintendo will let Disney use Bowser, but not Mario? Seems kinda weird.
7/16/2012 12:04:54 AM
The only report was that they denied use of Mario & Luigi. Everything else was fair game.
7/16/2012 12:10:24 AM
I have absolutely no idea if this link will work. The new trailer is currently a Yahoo! exclusive.http://www.yahoo.com/_ylt=AhKBmiYYf2BsdgM0V7RcI5KbvZx4;_ylu=X3oDMTF2c2FkcWM5BGNwb3MDMQRnA2lkLTI2NDIxNjgEaW50bAN1cwRwb3MDMQRzZWMDbW0tdmlkBHNsawN2aWRlbwR0ZXN0AzcwMQ--/SIG=11jbkek8q/EXP=1347555624/**http%3A//movies.yahoo.com/family/I am still ridiculously excited about this movie. Is that a Malboro from the Final Fantasy games in the support group...? And a Starfox Arwing fighter in another scene? Who is the blue Night Elf-looking girl in the support group? I know I saw Dig-Dug and Frogger in the subway station.
9/12/2012 1:47:24 PM
The blue elf girl thing looks familiar but I can't remember what game. It isn't an Arwing -- it looks like one but if you pause it when it is flying, it's pretty clear. That's too bad about Mario & Luigi though, considering Mario is the most recognizable video game character in history, Nintendo could have made a shit load of money from royalties. I'm pleased to see that Capcom and Sega were cool with having some of their most famous characters in it though.[Edited on September 12, 2012 at 2:59 PM. Reason : ]

Just in case the Yahoo! link above doesn't work...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfS9cytmmCYIMDB is listing voice actors for Ken and Ryu now.
9/12/2012 4:17:24 PM
And now I see a listing for a voice actor for both Mario and Luigi. Wonder what happened? Maybe Nintendo changed their minds. Guess we'll find out on Friday.

the porn parody of this will be awesome, and they won't even need to change the title

Taking my kid tomorrow.Correction, I'm going to see this movie. My kid can come if she behaves today and tomorrow morning.
11/2/2012 9:57:44 AM
Good movie. Some truly excellent cameos for the hardcore gamer. I think my favorite was "Sheng Long was here" in one of the train tunnels.
11/2/2012 10:57:31 PM
My favorite was the Code. But really they managed to make them not super obvious by just innundating every single scene with them. Excellent movie. Easily one of the best animated. Up there with Up and Toy Story.
11/3/2012 3:51:58 PM
Yea we definitely enjoyed it. Good movie.
11/3/2012 5:41:20 PM
I enjoyed it. The first 45 minutes was a deluge of nostalgia. Felt they spent too much time in that Sugar Rush place though. Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer stole the show.
11/3/2012 6:37:16 PM
I thought about the amount of time in Sugar Rush, but that kind of was the plot. Also, they brought every other game in there with them.I'm not sure there would have been as strong of a plot if they just sampled different arcade machines the entire movie.I also liked how every cameo/nod wasn't just about gaming. The Diet Cola/Mentos thing was hilarious![Edited on November 3, 2012 at 7:42 PM. Reason : .]

Good movie, I liked it.

great fucking movie
11/4/2012 12:51:49 AM
Fun movie, but I wouldn't want my boys to see it. The moral of the movie is that when you try to rise above your station in life things go horribly wrong and it's just better to find a way to be happy with your dump. Not a good message for kids, but otherwise I enjoyed the film.I can't decide if Tapper's or Zangief made me smile more.
11/17/2012 11:30:28 PM
Saw it Friday, liked it a lot. Very good, but not as memorable/endearing as some of the other movies like them in the recent years
11/17/2012 11:55:23 PM
^^I thought the moral was to be happy with who you are and don't judge people before getting to know them.
11/18/2012 12:34:55 AM
I give this film a "Meh..." ratingI was excited to see it, but it just felt bland
