Was doing some work on my computer and heard some flapping noise coming from my living room, went in there and found this guy chillin on my couch. Obviously came through the chimney but I thought he was an interesting looking bird and was wondering if someone who knows more about them could tell me what kind it is. This is the best picture I could get, he seemed to have a pretty small body and seemed all wings.

check the chimney for babies. a lot of times that's why they're in the chimney in the first place. you should be able to just make some noise in the fireplace and/or hit the wall at the chimney to disturb them enough to make them start squawking. they'll grow up & leave on their own though.

...or just close the flue & ignore them. if there are babies, they'll be gone within a couple of weeks. it's a lot less messy that way.
