Its an HP Pavilion dv6, and I have had my SLR camera hooked up to this thing before but last night it just wouldnt see it active so I could download my pics. No matter which of the 4 USB ports I tried it wouldnt show up in the list.

This morning my SD card wouldnt show up in the list either, and I have had this SD card hooked up to this computer as well.

What the hell?

go to control panel > administrative tools > computer management > disk management, and see if it shows up in that list. check the drive letter it's using & make sure it's not trying to use one that's being used by something else already. if it is, change it (right click, change drive letter & paths...).
