What restaurants are decent? Where's a good spot to find power outlets? etc etc.

I have a three-hour layover in Newark in a couple months. Haven't been through that airport in years. What can I do to occupy myself for three hours? I'm not bringing my laptop so I guess I need to find something to do

I can only read for so long in an airport before I start getting antsy. I like to take advantage of the opportunity to not be sitting non-stop during connections.

As someone who used to travel a lot for work, both of your inquiries are entirely airport dependent.

all you really need to know is that you should route flights via CLT whenever possible because the Bojangles is in Terminal B.

Living in Texas now this was one of the greatest discoveries I have ever made. I almost didn't walk down that far to discover that wonderful oasis of fried chicken and biscuits.

it really depends where in Newark you end up. i was in the commuter terminal last weekend and there really isn't much there. well Sean Penn was there so i was busy watching him like a creeper. the bigger terminals have more to do but they have those power poles where a bunch of people can charge devices and there's the usual restaurants and probably some one-off ones as well.

I connected in Newark once. I was walking behind these two dudes down the jet bridge into the airport , and one guy says to the other, "dude, this airport smells like piss"

the other dude responded "nah, that's just New Jersey."

But yeah, definitely smells like piss in the Newark airport.

if you are flying united then yes you will be in the same commuter terminal i was in last weekend. by the time you land from RDU and transfer terminals, you probably won't have more time to go.

New Jersey, as a rule, smells like piss. Its the types of piss you have to be cognizant of. They range from tolerable, like a businessman's piss, with hints of nutmeg and cigarette butts, to the truly deplorable, like an old lady farting piss onto a pile of wet garbage. If you're there long enough, you'll eventually get to a point of acceptance where any object that doesn't smell at least somewhat like a piss seems alien.
