i am currently developing the world's greatest drinking game to play while watching this show...granted most of it involves stuff Si says...but I'm convinced you can be trashed after each 30 minute episode...the first two things on the list are "drink every time":1) Si says "Hey"2) Si says "Jack"the rest of the list so far are "drink every time":3) some says "Idiot"4) Phil says "Happy Happy Happy"5) Phil dresses something6) some one blows a duck call7) you see Si's tupperware cup8) Si mispronounces a fairly common word9) Phil uses a fairly uncommon word10) somebody says "Miss Kay"11) Si mentions Vietnam or the militaryfeel free to add to the list[Edited on May 24, 2012 at 10:04 AM. You'd have alcohol poisoning before the first commercial.
5/24/2012 10:15:33 AM
I watched 2/3 of an episode and concluded that it truly is terrible TV.Zero action.Fake drama centering around whether the "world's largest duck call" will be ready in time for a party they were having. Would it have been so hard to start it two days before the party instead of one?Hey, let's get a real estate agent to drive these rednecks around looking at mansions that they'll have no interest in living in!!!It all just seems so stupid and fake. I find it hard to even watch a show like this all the way through.
5/24/2012 11:45:14 AM
i just watched the first episode and counted 52 drinks...and Si didn't say "hey" or "jack" a single time...things would get a whole lot rougher as the series goes on I also added these for bonus drinking...drink twice if:- Phil says "Yuppie"- someone says "He Gone!"- Phil says "Subdivision(also add #4 & #9 to this list)drink three times if:- Phil gives the thumbs up- Willie changes his bandana- Jase goofs off at work (also add #8 to this list)

wow so this show has been on for that long and I wasn't awarestill it's funny to see the liberals on my Facebook feed pointing out that the First Amendment only applies to the government, as if to excuse A&E's over-reactionI mean sure Phil Robertson is filled with hate, but bigotry and ignorance should have been expected from an old Southern White guy who loves him some Jesus, and anyway it's not like he's in a position to harm the public with his retrograde notionsbasically A&E should embrace the spirit of the First Amendment (as we on the Left often want major corporations to do with respect to other freedoms from government interference) by re-instating him as soon as possible(p.s.: no there wasn't some organized call on the Left to oust him, and actual calls of this type over more severe issues don't have much traction anyway)
12/20/2013 7:03:06 PM
^ I agree. Use the show as a venue to either mock his ignorance and backwardsness (which I thought it did anyway) or to have him hang out with gays and blacks and answer for his comments. What's odd is that in the same interview, Phil also commented on drunkards, but drunkards everywhere aren't rebelling. As a business, is it not smart for A&E to distance itself from what was said? Sure they may not lose many viewers by keeping Phil on the air...but they would get heaps of negative publicity for what could be seen as "backing Phil's views" by leaving him on the air. And that negative publicity could lose them advertising and money.
12/20/2013 7:39:56 PM
Anyone not understanding why A&E suspended Phil is either trolling or an idiot. Of course they had to suspend him, they didn't really have an option.
12/20/2013 7:52:06 PM
I don't even know what happened, but it made it easy to knock "friends" off my Facebook
12/20/2013 8:01:03 PM
These were pointed questions asked by a liberal magazine attempting to back him in the corner. Phil should've seen this coming...maybe he did and just didn't give a shit. But what we are doing is telling our public figures that they have to lie when asked specific questions. Why, when we tell the truth, do we get punished for it?
12/20/2013 8:13:23 PM
^^that.not to mention it will automatically drive up views of the show and the network. There are a TON of people that have never seen the show, but will watch it now JUST because of this.
12/20/2013 8:14:23 PM
12/20/2013 8:17:08 PM
A&E fails because they didn't put up a disclaimer saying that their executives don't share some of the views expressed by the cast or the show. The best thing to come out of this situation would be for the Robertsons to say fuck you, take your cameras off my lawn. (In more Christian terms of course) Sure, they would lose money, but they don't need it. A&E would lose more money in the long run.[Edited on December 20, 2013 at 8:28 PM. Reason : k]

Also, all the shit he said about black people. That's not religion, that's not Christianity. The guy went off-message, there is almost no way A&E had never told them to avoid this topic.
12/20/2013 8:39:30 PM
The PR department for the show must be getting the biggest fucking Christmas bonus of the decade. Two predictions: a&e planned on selling the show anyway and will get a boat load of money or Phil will apologize and return to higher ratings and greater ad revenue. I maintain this is the most American course if action:Use the show as a venue to either mock his ignorance and backwardsness (which I thought it did anyway) or to have him hang out with gays and blacks and answer for his comments. This way they make money, give the appearance of not supporting his action, and show America how dumb the far right is.
12/20/2013 9:13:00 PM
^^^yeah, that's offensive. saying black people were better off when they were being oppressed, before entitlement and welfare, is offensive. this shit isn't rocket science. again, there is no way that A&E never told them to not talk about these topics. the way A&E responded was the best and only way they could. they handled this correctly.this is a free market at work; this is the American way to handle it, let a private company decide what they want to do[Edited on December 20, 2013 at 9:15 PM. This Phil guy has no special training, or knowledge, no special insight. He's not smart, clever, witty, or educated. He's publicly said things dumber than our crazy uncles say. What is the benefit to the right of defending him? Shouldn't they be propping up religious or conservatives that are actually decent people? It's mind boggling how they have rallied behind someone so boring.^ agreed. If he just stopped at the first part, we'd all be better off. [Edited on December 20, 2013 at 9:18 PM. Reason : ]
