4/17/2012 1:36:51 PM
yall have no shame
4/17/2012 1:39:35 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but I believe that the case has already been settled and settlement funds have been allocated. Therefore the money is already there to be claimed. So you aren't actually taking it out of their pockets.
4/17/2012 2:08:55 PM
the funds have been allocated, but i assume they get to keep any leftovers
4/17/2012 2:11:12 PM
When there are leftover funds the court decides what to do with it, and they generally don't say oh you guys can keep it.
4/17/2012 2:17:28 PM
From what I can tell, you don't have to submit any proof of purchase, receipts, etc. I guess there's nothing holding anyone back that wants to get a free 20 bucks.Oh yeah, sure, I bought 5 jars.

OP is really conducting the most epic experiment/graduate research study on human morality I have ever seen. Its all bogus.[Edited on April 18, 2012 at 6:44 PM. Reason : free $20, no accountability besides guilt. Who would do it? Is humanity good or evil?]
4/18/2012 6:43:43 PM
I bought that many jars...no guilt here
4/18/2012 6:46:46 PM
4/18/2012 7:29:57 PM
Whoever is talking about getting free nutella and feeling guilty for it has flawed logic. If you think about it, you most likely saw one of the erroneous nutella commercials and believed them that it was healthy. Therefore, based on the ruling, you are entitled to some compensation for their unethical and misleading advertising tactics.Tl;dr shut the fuck up and get off your high horse.[Edited on April 18, 2012 at 7:42 PM. LOLOLAlmost 3 years later and I just got my check today$7.15
3/16/2015 2:03:09 PM
mine came in today as well . 7 dollars and some change I think
3/16/2015 2:33:02 PM
Got mine today.
3/16/2015 4:44:01 PM
As much as I love some free money, people believing that Nutella was healthy is retarded.
3/16/2015 7:57:39 PM
Quit apologizing for these corporate bastards. Their advertising clearly alluded that this was a healthy addition to breakfast when it was a mound of sugar with a handful of hazelnuts and a pinch of cocoa. A $3M settlement is chump change to a corporation like this. If it were $3B I'd consider sharing your concern.
3/16/2015 8:49:40 PM
I wish I noticed it at the time.
3/16/2015 9:11:48 PM
stealing is stealing, even if you're stealing from a giant corporation that will never notice/miss itsuch is my view]
3/16/2015 11:22:32 PM
That's not how class action works. It cost Nutella $3M regardless of the number of folks who signed up for the suit. If anything they were stealing from real people who actually deserved to get a cut of the settlement. But I don't think you get the point of these type of suits. It's not about getting free money or "stealing" from corporations. It's about holding them accountable for their actions. They profited handsomely thanks to their misleading advertising. Stripping them of their ill gotten gains is one of the few means the legal system has to influence them to act in accordance with the law in their future advertisements. And $3M is still chump change for these guys. This is the $6 parking ticket of lawsuits.

3/17/2015 1:14:26 AM
^^Yes, I see. You're not stealing from Nutella Corp; the sum of money they're going to lose is fixed. But the actual purpose of a class action lawsuit suit isn't really relevant to my point. I still maintain that since the terms of the form say "Class Members can receive up to $4 per jar of Nutella that they purchased during the time periods listed above," if you didn't purchase any nutella it's dishonest, and stealing from ppl who did, to register as a claimant. /annoyngselfrighteousass
3/17/2015 11:49:24 AM
Why the fuck did it take so long?
3/17/2015 11:56:04 AM
^ It takes forever for class actions to settle. I'm doing grunt work for a large class action right now. We've been doing discovery for over two years and might have another year left. It's ridiculous.
3/17/2015 12:15:53 PM
I think the Discovery Channel should showcase the highlights of legal discovery.
3/17/2015 8:45:22 PM
3/17/2015 9:44:23 PM
I had to see their stupid tv commercials, so my $7.15 check just about covers that pain and suffering.
3/18/2015 8:52:33 AM
I like $7.15.
