What tool do I need to remove this pedal from the bolt it's on? Looks like a rivet with a washer behind it. [Edited on March 27, 2012 at 2:41 PM. Reason : pic]

It's called a pedal wrench.Here's a video to help: The answer you're looking for starts at 3:27. http://youtu.be/W2HvLpCzpAo[Edited on March 27, 2012 at 2:48 PM. Reason : .]

Hard to see, but I believe that's a push nut. Same thing that holds the wheel on your little red wagon. They snap on easily in one direction, but are almost impossible to remove the other way. I usually cut them with a pair of diacs or a chisel or maybe just beat the pedal off with a hammer.Advance Auto or any hardware store will sell a pack of replacements for a couple dollars.Usually the pedals just unscrew from the bike(one side is backwards threaded), but I've never tried to disassemble them like you seem to be doing.http://www.ehow.com/video_4415604_remove-pedals-bicycle.html[Edited on March 27, 2012 at 2:52 PM. Right, i'm trying to replace the plastic part on my friend's bike. The other pedal broke and they fixed it at the store, but now it's out of warranty. His bike appears to just have a simple nut holding the pedal on. Thanks for the help
