Does anything like this exist in the area beyond the State of NC public auctions?

There are a few, but you will be navigating a crowd of mexicans, arabs, indians, africans, and women pushing baby strollers.

impressive post to view ratio here, I'm guessing by the crickets there really isn't anything like this in the area
