Monday, NCSU was among just five universities named as winners of the top honor, the President’s Award, in the 2012 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll.Chancellor Randy Woodson said the recognition was a result of the university’s efforts to make community service part of student learning, not just an extracurricular activity.“I think it’s an outstanding reflection of the commitment our students have to service, and our ability to get them service opportunities that in many cases are actually part of the curriculum,” Woodson said. The honor – which is bestowed by the federal Corporation for National and Public Service – may be a little obscure, but the field of competitors was vast.http://www.newsobserver.com/2012/03/12/1927768/nc-state-university-wins-national.htmlWe all go to NC State!
