It's not 100% necessary but for negotiations class we are having a pretty math heavy city budget exercise and i was just wondering if anyone would be so kind as to helplaw students are notoriously bad at math and especially in the middle of a negotiation you don't want to have to bust out a calculator and double check the math for every variablei have 14 total negotiable variables, 9 of which are negotiable in quantity (the other 5 are yes/no)the quantities are already in the most basic form(?) meaning one formula would take care of all of them once i gave you the different initial valueswould anybody be willing to make a spreadsheet out of the kindness of their heart that would do the math if enter either the quantity or yes/no of the options

Do you have any spreadsheet skill at all? From your description, this should be a simple sum.For the yes/no questions, use 1 and 0 for yes and no. Multiply the cost by the 1 or 0 (yes or no) to determine the value of that particular variable. If you want to get fancy, use Y and N with an if statement.

thank you guys, i added onto Tanzarian's sheet the information that I'm using. I could probably figure out the formulas from here but just in case anyone wants to finish it for me

I pity anyone who lacks this kind of basic technical skill in the modern world.

it's a time issue, not a skills issue. i could relearn how Excel works if i had the time, unfortunately in the 24 hours i have left i do not. there's plenty of reasons to pity a law student, not knowing excel is probably not near the top of that list.

actually the first two posters set it up, did the yes/no formulas, and i did all the other easy formulas so i at least relearned some of the basic excel skills
