Design compensates for that.Lets see it on a sedan. Or SUV. Lets see manual override controls. Why not put swivel front seats in there too?

What if your battery dies? Would there be a manual operation mode?Personally, the sliding-door is the most efficient door in the world. Sadly, most sliding doors I know eventually fail. I don't know of anyone who owns a minivan without sliding door issues.

Wow, that's a blast from the past. The black car that actually has the doors installed is a Lincoln Mark VIII, I think a 1994 or 1995. The conversion was done quite a while ago--I think I remember seeing that car on a Lincoln message board in 2004. And look, it still hasn't caught on...
