So about 2 months ago I started having a lot of stomach issues. Intense nausea and burning stomach issues every night for like a week. Then went to the doctor and diagnosed with gastritis...After about 2 weeks I felt better (prescribed pantoprazole and carafate). Figured I was all better and went back to eating like usual. While I was on the meds I was eating less caffine, high fat foods, etc.I've continued these habits and now I'm starting to be nauseous ALL DAY. Every time I eat my stomach hurts or burns intensely, and it more frequently occurs at night.Feel tired all the time too! If this makes any sense, it feels like my intestines are always "hot." Help meh (Going back to the doctor Friday)

Prilosec and pantoprazole are in the same class. I could not tell by your OP if your are still on the pantoprazole but dont take them both. That being said we just started GI in school so I might be of more help in a week. Does tums help at all?

Is this burning creeping up your throat or is it in your actual stomach and intestines? It may be an ulcer. My mother had a lot of GI issues that sent her in circles at the doctor's office. She was treated for all kinds of stuff: heartburn, gastritis, ulcer, just being a crazy hypochondriac, etc. It turned out that she had a hiatal hernia. Part of her stomach had come up through the hole in her diaphragm and started to twist. It required surgery to correct.

Yeah, this happened to me. It took them forever to figure out WTF was wrong with me, but it turns out not eating gluten relieved all my symptoms. This girl had the same problem:http://blisstree.com/eat/gluten-free-not-fad-fortthose-with-celiacs-disease-gluten-intolerance-975/I recommend getting tested for food allergies using an IgE or IgG allergy test. You could always try doing an elimination diet, I bet it wouldn't hurt at any rate.

yeah you should see a gastroenterologist, you may need an upper endoscopy to look for erosive esophagitis or an ulcer. alternatively you may have esophageal dysmotility, may need manometry. could also be gallstones, though a weird presentation. in that case get a right upper quadrant ultrasound and some lab work. take a couple tums before you go to bed, see if that makes any difference

About a year ago I ate a metric ton of Goldfish crackers and didn't feel right (with similar symptoms) for a while. I was convinced it was yeast. I ate mainly green veggies and no starchy carbs for a while and it went away. I've known a lot of people to have the same problem.

Go to a real doctor. Christ.

classic heartburn is frequently triggered by eating food that is high in fat and carbs at the same time, if not a specific trigger food like tomatoes, coffee, etc. Pizza, alfredo pasta, ice cream, etc should definitely be out until you feel better.

I had heartburn for all of undergrad, turns out it was celiac disease and no one gave enough of a shit to run the bloodwork to look for anything other than h. pylori and an ulcer.I'm allergic to mold and yeast, so I have to avoid that too.

Here's another vote for gluten as a potential culprit. I had the constant feeling of PMS cramps and it all went away when I cut out gluten. I also have some problems with dairy. The interesting thing with food intolerance is that since all you can do is avoid the triggers instead of taking medicine there really isn't a strong research and testing base for doctors to make a diagnosis. My doctor diagnosed me with IBS and then told me I was best off experimenting to find my triggers over paying for a bunch of testing that only catches a limited number of conditions, aside from the ones to rule out Celiac.

If you think it might be yeast, caprylic acid is pretty good for that (or one of the combo supplements they make for anti-yeast, but caprylic acid seems to be fairly gentle on my stomach).Docs generally ignore the idea of yeasty gut, so it might be worth trying a supplement if you suspect it.
