I don't know if classifieds is the correct way to go about this, but I'm a grad student at NCSU and I want to visit some friends doing research in South Florida over spring break. Flights are absolutely outrageous! If anyone is driving down there, I'd love to catch a ride, preferably as far south as West Palm Beach or furthur. In return, I'd help out with gas and perhaps a meal or two. Of course I would need to check and make sure you're not an internet serial killer, so I'd like to meet you in advance, make sure you're legit, etc.

If you know of any other students on a budget, headed that way, let me know if they could be interested as well.

"research"

Could you post some photographs so that we may determine how passenger-worthy you are?

If you want to arrive Monday, leave Friday, are willing to leave from Wilmington, and can get someone to drive to/from Orlando for you, there are stupid cheap flights with http://www.allegiantair.com/. Why they picked Wilmington, I do not know, but it's a relatively cheap way to get to Florida for a week if you're in a hurry.

Greensboro is closer, and has more options in Florida, including one South Florida.

Thanks for the link, I could use this!

wow, the train idea might work, don't know if I want to spend 20 hours on a train to get to Miami though.

^ it's a 14 hour (meaning 2 day for most people) drive, down 95 which sucks. i'd say the train sounds like a very nice option,

it would be cool if TWW had a feature where users in need of a ride could post where they wanted to go, and people going places could post where they were going, and then people could then work out carpooling and whatnot.
