i use a keen alamedai'd like to get an osprey astroi'm obviously not concerned about a "professional" appearance...i just want my gear to last

What's your budget?I have everything from Tumi & Timbuktu to Coach, Cole Haan & Jack George's (all brand offer men's & women's "computer" or work type bags)I agree that backpacks aren't professional. Not to say that almost everyone I know at work carries one, I refuse because I'm already young & one of the only females, I refuse to look juvenile in my accessories. I also have an obsession with bags (including purses but not limited to!)

Let me get this thread off topicI'm glad I don't have a job where I have to worry about the professionalism of my backpack

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0041O4G7O/ref=redir_mdp_mobileMy sister bought that for me since my company only gave us laptop backpacks which as mentioned before doesn't exactly look professional. I'm surprised it's held up as well as it did for the past few years but the leather feel, durability, and look are so good a coworker bought one too. It holds a 17" laptop and charger/mouse/gear easily but anything more than a binder or small stack of papers to go with it all and you might not have room for any more items. Got two large pockets for notepads, pens, business cards, etc.

Is there an outlet mall near you?? I got a briefcase similar to this:http://www.wilsonsleather.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3965574&cp=2446816.2019559.11621848&parentPage=familybut a little more "rustic" looking at a Wilson's leather outlet store a few years back. It was listed at something like $140 and I ended up getting it for $35 at a Black Friday sale. Obviously you're not going to get that kind of every day deal, but they have some great briefcase there for around or under a $100.Actually...this is what mine looks more like...but not as bright a brown:http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/515235/McKlein-Halsted-Leather-Briefcase-Brown/So you can find some good ones at an Office Depot/Staples as well.
