I just replaced the battery on my M3, and the engine dies right after it cranks. Starts up fine, but the engine cannot hold an idle and the RPM just drops. Pushing the gas pedal does nothing to keep it from dying. I had to jump it twice last night to get back and forth from work, it worked fine otherwise until now.I heard that the car may need a reprogram when a new battery is installed, since the amperage may be different. The old battery was an OEM, the new one is an autozone 94R-DLG.

I replaced the battery in my e46 a year or two ago with a non-oem one from autozone that a lot of people suggested, and I had no problems with any electronics. Might be the same exact battery, but I can't remember off the top of my head.

I thought unplugging the battery would reset the airflow calibration. Maybe it was too rich??? Maybe now it has readjusted??

I've disconnected my battery in my E46 several times, sometimes for just a few hours, other times for a few days and never had an issue. It's an autozone batt as well. Checked the terminals for tightness?

Dunno. They have those explosive charges on the terminals.
