Guys,

I've installed a 3tb hard drive in my new machine. I'd like to partition it and install windows on one of the partitions.

I've attempted this various ways but the end result is that Windows seems to only want me to install using MBT.

Has anyone been able to do this?

Does your hardware support UEFI?

Yes it does, but how do you format the drive?

Ok, I formatted the drive as GPT. Installer is able to read the entire drive as being 3tb.

However, Installer says that windows can not be installed to this partition! Why is this?

Has anyone been able to do this successfully?

Are you using a UEFI compatable boot device? i.e. are you seeing this?

Also, what mode is your drive controller set to?

Also, why are you pre-formatting the drive? The Windows installer will handle that for you.
