And away we go.One good thing about the Mets' offseason.]

For page 1:I hate that all the fans have to suffer for dumbass ownership. Please sign David Wright to an extension, I can't handle losing anymore of my favorite players, which a year ago were in this order:WrightReyesDavisBeltranPagan[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 1:37 PM. Reason : -]
12/7/2011 1:33:28 PM
Davis will hit 35 homers if he plays 145 -150 games.
12/7/2011 1:37:07 PM
Bay is gonna bust out with the shorter fences. I'm thinking a dozen, maybe fifteen home runes.
12/7/2011 2:11:41 PM
dont know how angel pagan could be on anyone's favorite player listbut thats me
12/7/2011 2:33:06 PM
^ I hate the Mets, but Pagan had a very solid year last season.
12/7/2011 2:41:26 PM
By comparison, my top 5 on the team now would have to beWrightDavisMurphySantanaBayMurphy has been up and down since he joined the club, but could end up being pretty solid at 2B (assuming we don't sign a 1B forcing us to move Davis). Bay and Santana are the highest paid players on the team, and in my mind, the most under-achieving.

Talk that shit now, Ernie
12/7/2011 3:16:01 PM
I mean what if I said Nate McLouth was one of my favorite players from last year's Braves team
12/7/2011 3:19:58 PM
I'll post this in the new thread as well (already posted in '11 thread)Mets sign Reliever Frank Francisco to 2 year, $12 million dealMets trade Angel Pagan to SF for OF Andres Torres and Reliever Ramon RamirezMets sign Reliever Jon Rauch to 1 year, $3.5 million deal
12/7/2011 3:20:05 PM
Rauch seems like a okay 1yr gamble at $3.5 M. Francisco has been hit and miss, I wouldn't want him for two years at $12M, too much risk. Trading your best OF and top of the order guy for a player who had one good season and was injured trash last year and middle reliever seems like a bad deal for NY.Oh well whatever. Your rotation sucks dick just like it did at this time last year. Good luck fixing that this offseason.

The bigger issue is a grown man having a top five favorite players list
12/7/2011 5:26:16 PM
^ LOL^^ My memory sucks. I thought he had his good season last year. Oh well he and Torres are basically the same player so I guess the Mets got a reliever in the deal.

12/8/2011 9:48:01 AM
Nomar is my favorite Cub, in a landslide.
12/8/2011 9:51:37 AM
I guess it wasn't clear enough that I was saying he's only up there because everyone else left/was traded and he's the only one with any hope of having a decent season. After the other 4 on the list who else do the Mets have who hold any potential?
12/9/2011 2:23:26 AM
Because Ernie is such a big fan of lists, I am going to name my top 5 favorite Met players of all time:1. Dennis Cook2. Mo Vaughan3. Tom Glavine4. Turk Wendell5. Kris BensonJust missing the cut were Shawn Green and Lasting Milledge.
12/9/2011 10:07:39 AM
don't forget robin ventura
12/9/2011 2:09:31 PM
Moises Alou? Roberto Alomar?
12/9/2011 2:30:21 PM
I LOVED Robin Ventura. Walk-off-grand-slam-single!
12/9/2011 4:53:31 PM
Todd Pratt once hit a big homer.
12/9/2011 4:54:47 PM
ha, shit I forgot he did that against atlanta otherwise I would not have suggested his name
12/9/2011 4:55:32 PM
The Mets still have a team?!
12/12/2011 4:25:14 AM
Hey NyM you got it backwards you fucking stupidass double chinned lazy eyed bandwagon inbred Jets Mets fan who couldn’t write a single coherent sentence about any sport.

There's been a couple of cases of father and son playing in the majors at the same time before.
3/6/2012 12:55:44 AM
I can't think of any. no way it's ever happened.
3/6/2012 1:09:22 AM
Can't tell if serious...The most notable was when Ken Griffey Jr snatched a ball out of the air that his dad was about to catch...that was a very famous moment in MLB history. They didn't only play at the same time, they were teammates.
3/6/2012 1:30:00 AM
^ LOL. Dude took it serious. This is going to be one of the funnier threads of the summer.
3/6/2012 7:34:00 AM
i almost feel like it's better to be an orioles fan right now than it is to be a mets fan. maybe it is. i really can't tell.

I've heard of him, just never knew the age differences.Regardless, Martinez was untouchable in trade talks when so many teams wanted him, and now we just simply put him on waivers to make room for this guy. I really hate our management.
3/6/2012 11:08:32 AM
Career line of .183/.250/.290 and you expect something in return?[Edited on March 6, 2012 at 11:20 AM. Reason : Teams wanted him before they saw he couldn't hit]
3/6/2012 11:19:55 AM
Lastings Milledge all over again. This team should just start trading young players before other teams realize they're garbage.
3/6/2012 11:21:56 AM
David Wright is hurt, but he says he'll be ok.
3/14/2012 1:06:02 PM
The first 12 games of the season are against the NL East, and 15 of the first 19 overall. We'll see pretty quickly just how bad the team really is.50th anniversary of the very first Mets season...we only won 40 games in 1962 and I wonder if this season will be any better.
