...there's a link in the videos thread from last week-
12/7/2011 7:16:12 AM
darn it... anyway, this is more than just a link to the video.i am truly amazed by this creation... and that it costs just over a grand. i would have thought something like this would have cost at least double of that, if not more.p.s. if you remember seeing the link here, it must have been another thread, because i basically went over all the links on the current page of the videos thread (dating from 7/28/11), and i didn't see it.[Edited on December 7, 2011 at 7:29 AM. sry, El Nacho posted in RC thread on 12/2just thinking about what precise control one must maintain to drive that thing without crashing at speed is mind boggling
12/7/2011 8:27:47 AM
yes.. brushless DC has turned the RC world on its head... just a while back everyone wanted a 2+ hp gas rc car.. now everyone wants brush-less dc... the cars are much much faster and the drivetrain required much less maintenance... however the mind blowing speed will have you breaking everything else 3x as fast.
12/7/2011 8:32:36 AM
Man...I'd crash the shit out of that car in less than 5 minutes
12/7/2011 8:48:29 AM
Yeah i got a BDC helicopter... totaled in 2 hours too much power

I'd like to take it off some sweet jumps.

You wanna know who will buy this? Ghetto black people. Seriously.I see them all the time at the hobby shop trying to buy a "faster engine" for their P.O.S. traxxas car. They just want to go fast in a straight line...they dont care about any kind of "racing".</thread>

thanks captain racist.

I suspect it'll be bought by semi-rich thirty somethings who run it a couple times, do $50 worth of damage to it, and forget about it in the back of their closet for a decade or so.

A used sportbike will do pretty much the same thing for about the same money. And you can ride on it.
12/7/2011 7:57:15 PM
2.3 seconds to 60... for 1100 on a used sport bike??Ohh i'm calling bullshit all over that one. the brand new bimmer is the only liter bike that comes close and the hyabusa & kawi 1400 yeah good luck finding one of those for a grand.

I doubt you'd notice the extra one or two seconds while trying to hold on.I've never understood the rc nerds. I do enjoy watching rc airplanes crash, though.

I used to be able to run 100mph, then I took an arrow in the knee

my first stadium truck was a traxxas... they actually come with pretty good drive lines but crap for chassis... i still run the stock traxxas stuff in my HPI RS4 MT when i'm just playing (and don't need huge speed)sounds like another gateway truck from traxxas
