I'm taking a DE class this semester. The only thing that has disappointed me so far is the response time to message board traffic. The syllabus basically says that the message board is the preferred method of asking questions as long as the questions are useful to other students. But a lot of the time there will be several outstanding (and important) questions and no response from the professor or TA for days. This is especially painful when people ask for clarification on a homework in the days leading up to its due date and the deadline flies by with no clarification from the professor or TA.The worst was when the first exam was coming up within 2 weeks and I couldn't get anyone to tell my when the exam window actually was (the professor took a week to respond to my query, but still didn't actually answer my question). Is this par for the course? It kind of sucks when you're DE and can't ask questions in class/office hours. I would start spamming email, but I don't want to be that guy. [/bitching]

I've had good and bad experiences with DE, mostly good though. My current class with Lasher is amazing, him or the TAs respond pretty much ASAP with questions. However, one of my classes over the summer was terrible, guy started late, never responded to emails, didn't publish grades etc.
