Is this an Urban Outfitters commercial?
11/29/2011 3:18:16 PM
that Claire chick in the video is just as hot as she was when I had a few classes with her (very hot)
11/29/2011 3:21:33 PM
There are entirely too many white people in that video. Making white folks look cool requires brief clips, interesting props and slow motion, don't dawdle too long on full body shots. Also, I found the highhat/snare volume too high and distracting. Stylistically I enjoyed the bubble text, especially when it was used in unusual ways(words introduced right to left, for instance). Could have used a different scene, outdoors or something, inter-spliced to keep it interesting. It has neon street signs overlayed, maybe just a better shot of night street scenes from time to time. And it's always nice to see the instruments in action...even if it's just quick closeups of a computer screen, sliders moving, needle bouncing...musicians in their element rather than just standing around awkwardly bouncing. On a second listen, I think I'd let the smooth riff continue on for a full three measures during verses before the strings come back in with their 'HONK HONK HONK HONK' and harsh the vibe/distract you from the rapping. The first dude in glasses is a natural choice to open the song, clear and clever lyrics that draw the listener in. The guy in the sweater has an awesome voice but needs to work on his rhythm. White guy, annoying as his voice is, has distinctive style and the best flow by far.The lips don't always sync, but not distractingly so.[Edited on November 29, 2011 at 3:50 PM. Reason : I have never before heard this band.]

I can't get used to bright colors being popular again. My head screams, "NEEDS MORE DESATURATION.", but I'm dealing with it.

11/29/2011 6:15:12 PM
I like Kooley High. Always have. But the skill level represented in this video/song illustrates why Kooley High will remain a local band. I just don't think they have what it takes to make it outside of NC, for the most part.]

I might could be talked into going to see these guys on the 10thI've seen them several times before and always loved it. I love it at pour house too because I can get down in the mix, and then when I get tired of that, head upstairs and chill, but still have a good view of everything
