Hmmm...Please to win. We'll go 1-2 between this, Stanford and Syracuse in my opinion.[Edited on November 26, 2011 at 9:00 PM. Reason : .]

I would love a win. This season will be / is better than last.
11/26/2011 9:03:36 PM
did they have some huge recruiting class for this year? or was it for next year?

Gardner-Webb lost by 2 to Butler, but Butler lost to Evansville, who was beaten by Indiana so who knows

I'm just glad to have a game on ESPN the deuce instead of espn3
11/26/2011 10:28:44 PM
Here's hoping we don't screw it up

WIN...ACC still loses challenge again though
11/26/2011 11:12:47 PM
anyone know if there are still any tickets available for this?
11/26/2011 11:31:17 PM
I think we'll get a win here. We have actually had the benefit of playing some decent competition already.
11/27/2011 9:42:11 AM
I feel decent about this one. They have a week schedule so far. Our crowd should really start to be filling in with this game. We're playing well, and it's a big big quality game OOC.I'll honestly be happy if we go 2-2 against Indiana, Standford, Syracuse, and St. Bon.
11/27/2011 10:17:56 AM
Can't wait for this game. I don't know much about IU. Looking forward to a fun game and atmosphere.

so they have Tyler Zeller's brother, and he's (one of) their best players as a freshman.. I'm sure he will be discussed during the game.[Edited on November 27, 2011 at 11:20 AM. Reason : ~]

State wins 84-76.TDT breaks out and is 2-5 from 3.

Indiana looks pretty legit this year. They haven't played anyone yet but they've beaten everyone easily. We'll know a little more about them after they play Butler today (but even Butler isn't a tournament team this year).IU looks great offensively, solid defensively, but weak at rebounding. They shoot the ball well from the outside but they don't rely heavily on outside shooting so far (perhaps due to the competition they've played). Should be a great game, and our best chance at pulling off an upset in our three big remaining non conference games. I'd say IU opens as ~2 point favorites.

Indiana beat butler fairly handily 75-59[Edited on November 27, 2011 at 10:07 PM. Reason : .]

hypothetically. if elon played butler. what's the final score. i can't figure out if indiana is for real or not.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 10:49 AM. Reason : -]

^It would go to overtime, for sure. No clue who wins, though.
11/28/2011 10:51:01 AM
At least for the first half, they really didn't look that great last night. Very sloppy - and that was at home for their big in-state game of the year. Even playing cupcakes, they still could put up 90+ points, so they should be a good match...but I don't see why we can't pull out the W at home by 8-10 points.
11/28/2011 10:52:31 AM
theyre 20th in rpi so itd be a great win
11/28/2011 10:57:00 AM
^^right. i'm starting to buy into that, but for some reason this game is a complete toss-up in my head, despite seeing a lot of confidence for state winning.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 10:57 AM. Reason : ^^]

we'll win this game kids, don't you worry.[Edited on November 28, 2011 at 11:31 AM. Reason : know why? b/c we have a good basketball coach.]
11/28/2011 11:31:32 AM
I'm thinking this will be a close game with State pulling it the W. If Indiana wins, I will not be surprised at all though.
11/28/2011 11:48:38 AM
Scott Wood will be psyched to play his home state team. I'm hoping he has a good game.
11/28/2011 12:01:57 PM
Looks like Indiana didn't even recruit Wood. Hopefully some strong motivation for him in this one.

You are all witnessing our basketball sentiment turning. We've made it 36 posts without a dancing L. I'm impressed

I hope we victor.
11/28/2011 7:55:27 PM
Katz is so on our dick these days.
11/28/2011 7:59:46 PM
Indiana's only away game has been at Evansville. They have a young team, and if the arena gets rowdy they could be rattled.I support booing Zeller early and often.
11/28/2011 8:20:05 PM
^^ He's probably the only national college basketball analyst that has seen us play a game yet. I hope we make the same kind of impression on the country Wednesday night as we made on Katz during that tourney.
11/28/2011 8:25:08 PM
We still didn't get any votes in either poll. This win would put us in the "others receiving votes" category.

I like the toughness and ball skills that de Thaey brings to the table, but I'm pretty sure that he and Alex Johnson will be competing all year to see who can miss more wide-open 3's. I'd rather have Wood take a contested 3 than de Thaey or Johnson take an open one. Still, he will get a ton of pt this year as an inside-outside forward. Don't expect to see much of Harris now that de Thaey is in the fold. We have solid frontcourt depth.I don't know much about Indiana, but do we send in Vandenberg as a goon primarily tasked with disrupting Zeller?
11/28/2011 10:05:11 PM
I think it might be little early to make an assessment of De Thaey's three-point shot. I mean, he's only played 16 minutes and taken 3 threes.
11/28/2011 10:16:47 PM
11/28/2011 10:20:40 PM
^^de Thaey shot 29% from behind the arc in the Euro under-20 league last summer. That's Kenny Inge territory...
11/28/2011 10:27:54 PM
I bet can't fall as hard Inge. You could hear him hit he floor through the tv with mute on.
11/28/2011 10:34:48 PM
29% is ugly but if he can get into 35% territory and stretch the defense from the wing we need all the help we can get this year with the outside shooting. If it wasn't for Wood we'd be one of the worst outside shooting teams in the country this year (we're not that far away with him). Thankfully we are remarkably efficient on 2's and have the ability to get to the line. Our passing is the key this year, we're generating an unbelievable amount of assists per made basket.
